Comment:

Allan is a great prof, but he can be forgetful and confusing. Tests often have bonus questions, which are a great way to boost your mark. Follow along in the package and you will do great in the course. Very sweet and funny, easy to get along with.

Comment:

Great teacher, great guy, great lectures. He can be a tough grader and will challenge you in class but doesn't throw ridiculous questions are you during the final. If you attend class, you should more-than just pass his class. Some labs and lectures are a bit slow going because Allan gives students one-to-one on important or difficult concepts.

Good Professor. Takes it slow during lectures and does lots of practice so the material is easy to understand. Goes around and offers help to students. Sometimes isn't super clear when answer questions and tends to get mixed up occasionally.

Allan is an awesome prof. He is very clear and makes math very easy to understand. His tests, midterm, and final is very straight forward. He is supper funny. I USE TO HATE MATH BEFORE I TOOK IT WITH HIM. I understood his class so well that I got 100% on his midterm. When I took this same course high school I barely passed with a 50%. :)

Comment:

Allan is very kind and gives help outside of class time, but he is a terrible teacher. His instructions are confusing and disorganized, and he always seems to be rushing. I had to turn to online lectures to keep up in this class. It was not uncommon for the class average on a test to be 40-50%. If you struggle with math, avoid his class.

He is so nice and clearly cares about his students, however... he spends the entire class doing examples and gave little to no time for students to write notes. I felt most of the concepts were poorly explained and so most of my learning was through the textbook and YouTube.

Allan was one of the best profs I think I'll ever have. He is supportive, reliable, intelligent and goes beyond the norm to help you succeed. Anyone who did poorly in his class must not have attended often or did not pay attention. His exam and test content never come as a surprise because he will cover everything thoroughly during his lectures :)

He is a great prof. His tests, midterm, and final is based off his notes. He never gives surprises. As long as you do your homework you will do great in his course. I noticed the people that did not do well in his class were always on there phone, skipped class, never did hw, or use the uprep centre. He is very nice and always offers extra help.

I would not take Allen as a teacher. At the beginning of the semester he was going incredibly slow and the class was easy, but right after reading break he decided to crank it up and no one had any idea what was going on. The class average on tests was 30% or lower.

Best math teacher I have ever had, funny once he gets to know the class...really clear in his teaching and more than willing to help you if you need it. Marks fair but MAKE SURE you listen to what he expects as far as answering questions on tests. Wish he taught more than just math0500

Seems slightly bored in the material, not a very lively person, but that could be because of his age and years of teaching. Went from 34% on placement test entering class, to 93% on final exam. This man can teach. Inspired me to continue with Maths and Physics, and computers. His lessons still help me 10 years after I took my first class with him. So good to see him in the halls even now. Al rocks.

I was terrible at math before I took his class. His teaching made me understand the material, and the class improved my math skills.I actually like math now. Very good teacher! Very helpful. Do the questions that he assigns you in the text and you will do ok. Be prepared to answer question in class. You learn the material better this way; I think.

Terrible if you want to learn outside the box and have questions about why things do what they do. He couldn't explain something unless he read it right from the textbook. His tests seemed to have nothing to do with material previously learned. I do not recommend this teacher
