It wasn't a walk in a park, but overall awesome..you have to buy the books because almost anytime you have a reading assignment you WILL have a quiz...attendance is mandatory. 3-4 papers that you WILL spend a lot of time on. a lot of deep in class discussions about life which are fun. He's very funny & chill. I learned so much & had an awesome time

Very good teacher! Gives a decent amount of work but nothing unbearable. If you are looking for an easy A then this is not the class for you. You have to write essays and read out of the assigned books very often. He is very helpful if you ask questions in class and go see him during his office hours. I strongly recommend him!

I would avoid him like the plague. There are so many english professors at ECU that provide an easy A. There is no reason to take him. He doesn't even challenge you he just grades low.

Mr. McPhatter is not a bad professor. He sometimes can have a bit of an attitude problem. There was a lot of writing but its expected because the course is WRITING INTENSIVE. Attendance isnt mandatory but i missed one class and was so confused. As long as you do your work and dont try to feed him excuses, he's fine.

Overall he's a nice and intelligent man. But he ask for alot. He gives random pop quizzes. These quizzes suck! Lots and lots of Homework. So your gonna have to keep up with him. Mr. McPhatter is a great teacher overall. He does give a couple of quizzes that you really have to read for. All of the papers he assigns are interesting, but he does grade hard. He will help if you are willing to be helped. I would recommend taking him if you want to become a better writer.

He is tough on grading. Even if you write what is required he takes off if he doesn't agree. He's very opinionated. For the quizzes he asks questions that are insignificant to the main idea, just to see if you remember, so read things twice.
