I can not tell you how much this man cares for what he does. I would not be half the person I am today if it was not for him. He is always there for his students and is so passionate for him job and that music education will take over the world. He is the second greatest man in the world.

Too easy of a class, i come from hard music and fuller singing. I've learned to sing in an opera style. His style is light and airy, not good for my vocal cords. But the music is too easy and i get very bored. I recommend this class for someone who is just starting in music.

Over the years, Dr. Howell has weeded out the weaker, incompetent students with poor attitudes. It's sad that they post here. His dedication to kids is unmatched. Our profession needs more people like him who have the guts to insist on future teachers with good attitudes and who are competent musicians and teachers.

By far the best educator I have ever had. He is very clear with his material and when it comes to an exam he repeats things from previous exams so you don't forget them. I look forward to going to his class each week and don't mind an exam every other class.(we meet once a week) I would recommend him 110% he brings a great spirit :)

I had Dr. Howell for several music education classes. He assigned tons of busy work out of the textbooks which are basically useless after you graduate. He does not prepare students for a career in Music education, as much as he pushes his opinions in his high and mighty way, because he acts so much better than everyone else.

he loves singing and you can tell. he goes over songs over and over again and if you don't catch on, it's completely your fault. he is fun to be around and even requires you to meet him in his office either in groups or by yourself so he can personally help you with singing and such. he's a great teacher and definitely knows what he's doing.

I've had him for Women's choir and Elem. Methods. Yeah the workload is alot but not if you do it and not slack off. If you ever need to talk to someone about anything, he is a great person to go to. I would definately recommend taking a class with him.
