Jayne is the best Professor I've ever had. He's so nice & caring. Thoroughly explains every topic in class. Will go out of his way to help you with the material. All homework problems are on chegg. Doesn't change his quizzes or exams so study from the old ones. If you go to class & do the homework theres no reason why you shouldn't get a good grade

Jayne is a great professor overall. He really cares about the students and wants to see them succeed. His tests are fairly tough, but they're definitely fair. The homework and quiz grades are meant to boost your overall grade. Make sure you do the homework and understand it because the concepts on the midterms and final are very similar.

Honestly statics was hard because the exams were difficult. I did awful on the final and it dropped my grade a whole letter grade. You really need to spend time doing extra problems from the book to master the material. All the homework problems are on Chegg but if you just copy it you will not do well on the exams.

He's an awesome teacher, definitely one of the best I've had in college. He cares about the success of his students, and is approachable and helpful. The tests are harder than the homework, and the homework is long. I liked that he gave hand outs and a little extra credit here and there.

He is a great professor. I took him for all my Structure classes since freshman year. He really wants the students to do well and is very helpful. His notes are sometimes unclear and you need to be on your toes to be on the same page as him. His Homework is easy but exams are tricky. Take him , you don't have any other choice either.

I've had Jayne for Solid mechanics, structures, and steel design, and plan to take 2 more classes with him next semester. This guy is a boss and cares about his students getting the material. Hard classes, but if you put in the work he's a fair grader and is more than happy to help you better understand material you are struggling with

Terrible professor, lectures have very little to do with online homework. Hard to study for tests and quizzes because he makes them so much harder than problems from the book, handouts, and homework.

Dr. Jayne is the best Engineering Professor at The University of Delaware. He is highly respected by everyone of his students and is always available when you need help. I also took Statics and Solid Mechanics with Dr. Jayne and he was equally as talented in teaching those classes. I would recommend you take as many classes as you can with him.

This is my second class with Jayne and his classes are practically the same. Usually its two midterms and a final exam with homework weekly. Actually doing the homework helps a ton for the tests (so don't just look it up on chegg every week). Overall the class is fair. Just show up and study and you'll be fine

Second class taken with professor Jayne. He is a good teacher, as he does a lot of in class examples that are helpful in understanding the material along with helping for the quizzes. Quizzes for 212 are tricky, but he is a good teacher and a really cool guy on a personable level.

Gives lots of very clear notes. Assigns weekly hw but it's manageable and helps you actually learn. Quizzes are also fairly easy. However he only gives two exams, midterm and final and though they're fair they're extremely difficlt. It's not hard to do well, but it takes a lot to get an A

loved this guy. very structured class. 2 exams (midterm and final) as well as 4 one problem quizes throughout the course. gives weekly book problems which helps you stay on the material and actually learn it, which makes tests and quizes pretty easy if youve been doing it.

Easily communicates subject material to class. Is always open to questions and is very knowledgeable in subject matter. Easy to get along with and a very nice guy. Sometimes there is a question that is tricky on the exam, but if you pay attention to his classes, you will be able to solve it no problem. My favorite engineering professor.

Very good professor and very fair and organized and helpful. 4 quizzes, a midterm, and a final that are all very fair and not too difficult if you know what you're doing. Weekly HW is not bad and answers are online. Not really necessary to read book, but HW is from the book. If you have the option to take him, do!
