Mr. Olsen is great professor. He def. makes history a fun class and enjoyable to attend. He gives 4 test and a final and drops the two lowests grades (including the final.) I would definately take him again

Professor was tuff and not very friendly! He likes to used old and out dated style for essay writings!He likes use really expensive books too! You go through several different sets of scantrons for his test, quizzes and the final; you use different scrantons each time! If you can afford to buy ex****ive books and are up for a challenge take him!!!

This is a great instructor. Like some previous comments stated his voice takes some getting used to and recording the lecture is recommended. Take good notes and study them while skimming the chapters for the highlites. Do all required essays and attend class and you will do fine in this class. I will take this instructor again for Hist 1302.

Olsen is great!He's always talking about how the satelites in the sky watch everyone,that's why the blinds are rarely open...haha.He does have an unusual voice,but it's no biggie.You can tell that he really cares about history!He helps you with the essays and tests are OK.STUDY NOTES.and read if you can.QUIZZES BOOST YOUR GRADE!!RECOMMENDED!!

This class too i took him from his ratings on here. He is good, and you don't need the bigger book, he goes over everything very. Test were easy, and the the final is only worth 10%. his voice does take some getting used to, he sounds like the guy who played in the coneheads

You dont need to buy American Journey, but you do need America Firsthand for the essays. His tests and quizes are straight from the notes. He gives an essay on each test. Dont freak out....you have 3 to choose from and you go over them in class! VERY EASY! I highly recommend him. Oh yeah....he has an annoying voice, but you get used to it.

TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!! he takes some getting used to at first, &then it's cool. 3tests that you have to review for,2 essays(one take-home& the other extra credit to drop 3quiz grades), drops lowest test grade,& lectures are interesting &funny. doesn't like when people walk in front of him when he's talking.TONS OF QUIZZES TO BOOST YOUR GRADE!!!

The class isn't hard. More than half of the questions to the test are on the "Practice Test" guide sold with the book. Or just take good notes. He gives essay topics every other week and the answers are discussed in class. Funny guy.

Very interesting took 7am class he always make comments on his cuban coffee he drank test are easy and come straight from the lecture gave you answers for essay question that would be on the test. Had to right one out of class essay and he gave you 2nd chance to rewrite for better grade makes a boring class interesting

There are 3 tests, 1 take home essay and several quizzes. All are fairly easy. You can use your dictionary for the quizzes and tests. And you can drop one test which is the lowest grade. He gives some opportunities to raise your grade. His lecture is very interesting! I took 7am class, but I didn't fell asleep even once!
