Really sweet old man who clearly cares about his students. Very helpful. Quirky as hell. Sometimes rambles on for ten minutes in class about something completely unrelated, but it's always really interesting.

Mingo is a prof who is great if you have a good grasp of the material to begin with or are just naturally good at math. I think he caters to the smarter students and is helpful for them. If you're not one of these students, it's very easy to get lost and confused since he taught a calc 1 class essentially all through proofs. Nice guy for sure tho.

Dr. Mingo did an excellent job of conveying his love of mathematics to our class and often went on amusing math related tangents throughout the lecture. All in all he's an excellent professor and is always willing to help students out with problems in tutorial or after lecture. As an earlier poster said: Mingo's the man!

You can tell he has enthusiasm when he teaches, it gets the students excited to learn as well. On top of that he really understands you have to prove mathematics when teaching back to the basic concepts.

Fantastic prof overall, really started to appreciate him around week 3 after a lot of people switched to 121. Knows the content inside out and backwards, and can help with any question you bring to him. I'd take a class of his again, he's a friendly guy and great to talk to (and not just about math!)

Mingo excels when given the opportunity to teach higher level classes. It's hard for anyone to teach MATH 121 effectively, as almost all of the students are non-math students who just want their hands held. I've had Mingo for both MATH 280 and MATH 891, and the quality increase from the first to the second was large -- he excels at higher levels.

Those of you in math 121, quite frankly, are unqualified to rate this professor. You can't expect a professor to enjoy teaching a bird course, and you can't expect a bunch of students who are incompetent in math to enjoy his teaching. He has made math 281 (real analysis) extremely interesting and always proves any result.

Pretty terrible teacher but most of the fault lies with the curriculum. It's far too simple especially if you took calculus in high school. With material this dull and repetitive, Churchill would have difficulty keeping the attention of this class.

Come on, don't be so hard on the guy... Genuinely nice guy, but the class can be a snooze. The only thing I don't like about his teaching is when he wastes time because he's running out of notes to teach.

He's a really nice guy, and tries hard to be funny and helpful, but he's still very confusing and when you come out of that class the only thing on your mind is WTF? He's a great guy, but a BAD teacher...

Even if you've already covered in previous years what he stands up in his pink shirt trying to teach you, you will still have no idea what he is talking about. Teach yourself using the textbook and other year's notes.

Not so hot at all...very confusing and off topic...who cares about Galileo and Aristotle in Calculus...you're better off to just read the textbook because lectures are just plain confusing! Good luck!
