Good Lord, this professor is boring. There are times when he just rambles and doesn't speak up, and you honestly forget he's even speaking. If you want the class for the grade, go for it. But it takes a lot for me to sit there for an hour and a half.

Normally, I don't blast professors, but I can honestly say that Blakely is the worst professor I've ever had at BU. He is unclear (in class and on assignments) and extremely boring. He is very unhelpful when you go to him for questions.

He's a nice guy although at times I kinda got the impression he was a little too interested in some of the female students. I thought the class was easy. Just come, do some of the reading and write a decent paper. If you need an HI class, he's worth taking. I just liked the guy but nothin' special.

Very unassuming and quiet man, always very nice -- but not necessarily very clear. Certain assignments weren't explained well, however the grading was overall very easy. Lectures do tend to be unfocused and centered around the history of the book you're reading, rather than the book. I recommend him

This class was not hard. He gave a review sheet with the terms for the midterm (which was very straightforward), and the biggest grade was a collection of 1-page 'journals'. He does ramble, and the readings were very dull at times, but this class definately was not difficult. Good professor.

This class was not so much difficult as it was boring and unclear. The lectures lacked direction, and while the professor is intelligent, he doesn't approach or teach the information in a convincing manner. I would not take this class, you enter and leave it knowing exactly the same amount of info

Professor Blakely is an awful teacher. His lectures are scattered and disorganized and he does NOT explain assignments at all. The grading doesn't make sense. Don't take a class with this professor unless you are ready to be confused and lacking a decent grade.

He's knowledgeable, yes. But he gives NO clear guidelines for assignments so you kind of guess what to do. He makes practically no comments on revisions so it's hard to understand the grades you get.
