I would never take her class again - very rude, very confusing, and isn't willing to give extra help or feedback. She was out for a month, told us to do NO WORK during that time, and proceeded to give us a quiz on material she told us not to worry about since she'd be out. AVOID HER CLASSES LIKE THE PLAGUE.

She's a nice person, but I wish she would change her teaching style. She just expects you to read numerous books which are not easy to understand, and then barely tells you what she expects for the tests. Definitely very confusing. If you're willing to put in hours and hours of reading, you will maybe get a B.

THE WORST PROFESSOR IVE EVER HAD. She was out sick for a full month, comes into the first class together with an attitude, she mocked one of the students for being confused about assignments, and is just straight up rude. AVOID AT ALL COST. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible

Avoid this class she is so boring and her tests were way harder than they need to be for a sociology class. I had her for Self & Society and I received a B ( I wanted an A since this was an elective) AVOID HER FOR THIS CLASS she is so boring and is rude. Does not respect students opinions at all and will make sure her opinion is supreme.

Nice lady , but wish she would explain herself better . She will allow you to earn a better grade if you work for it . She can be a tough grader at times . She goes off topic a lot , her class can be boring and hard to understand what she is talking about at times . You have to keep up on asking her questions because she may forget to answer you .

Unfortunately, the class is full of complaining students. They are blatantly disrespectful, and I honestly feel bad for her. I wish I could take her again. She's not tough. She does however want you to think outside the box a bit, which I thoroughly enjoy. Alot of reading. Alot of writing, but all in all, a very easy class if you listen.

350 characters isn't enough. She is the most impossible thing to understand, and when asked a question never truly gives you an answer that shall suffice. She is always late to class, and in return leaves you with a slick little laugh as if its okay. Not to forget she accused everyone of cheating. If you're into that kinda still-- Do take her fam.

Great professor. Class definitely had an upper level feel. Read the text. She is very flexible with deadlines and is very reasonable w/ tests. 3 short reaction papers, one major term paper (was fun). Participation is key. Very understanding and kindhearted, and challenged me to be a more understanding person. Great mentor and person!

Very confusing and not open to any opinions on subject matter. Her view is the only one that counts. I took her for visual sociology which new to the sociology course offerings for the spring semester. The course and teacher were very boring and the class was taught in a very confusing manner. If you are Sociology major avoid this class.

She is rude, argues her point and it is hard to state your side when she wrote the book you use. Tests are all true and false and she is right no matter what. I tried so hard just to get a B- in the class. She grades the papers very easily

Fun class, not boring however the tests were really tought...make sure you know who is the author of every article you read cause thats how she asks you questions on her tests. The tests were tough and not curved but all the other work she has you do she gives you 100. And she wants you in class and participatiing

Professor Carter is very fun. She makes jokes, which allows you to feel comfortable. She isn't demanding, but requests you read so you can have a topic discussion involving everyone..if you didn't read, be ready for a quiz. Grades hard on quizzes, but pprs were simple. I would take her again..for sure. Particpation is huge too! & helpful!

Ok, this is my second time taking her and I hate her already. Last semester it was fun and we had a good time learning. This semester she is going psycho with work!! Sooo nice and down to earth. Really enjoyed her and thought she was pretty interesting. She cares and just wants you to understand the information. I had her for self and society and I have nothing bad to say about her. Content, tests, quizzes and papers are all easy. Just make sure you read!!!!

ok, I don't understand these bad reviews. She is a great teacher! All of her examples are ALWAYS relevant to the topic, and they are truly entertaining. She encourages participation, and makes class pretty fun. Take her, you will not regret it
