Comment:
I love literature and writing papers, but this class was awful. He talked more about which anthologies a story appeared in than he did about the stories themselves. When we did discuss stories, it was all memorization and skimming of characters, themes, and plotlines. Too much reading, too little depth! Bring your pillow and teddy bear.

Dr. Ensor is very, very easy. I got like a 100 on almost everything in the class. However, he's often not very interesting. He chose good material, but the class was fairly boring. If you want an easy class, take from him, but if you want to be challenged, I'd say take it from someone else.

I was very disappointed by the teacher and the material. I was looking forward to this class and genre of literature, but the teacher is god awful. He's very nice, but not interesting in any way. A lot of times he mutters and has his own weird commentary on the texts. Take this class with someone else, even if they're harder.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! I *love* literature and was really looking forward to this class, but now I'm ready to gouge out my own eyes in class. This man is the MOST boring person I have EVER met in my ENTIRE life. He doesn't talk about themes, symbolism, or anything really except versions of the text and discrepancies between the versions.

Not hard at all, but he's just not a very interesting professor. We didn't dig very deep into the texts and spent most of our class time simply going over the plots instead of talking about themes, symbolism, character development etc. He's a nice guy though and very willing to give extra help if you need it.

I learned quite a bit from the class, but Dr. Ensor needs to focus on the nneds of the students and less on a small field of critics. Creating a cohesive group is as important as spouting off facts and allowing pompous doctoral students control the class.
