AHI2014 is pretty lecture heavy, so attendance is mandatory. Essays are doable, and Dr. Palmer gives great feedback. Readings are assigned every week & are gone over in the discussions. Content is interesting but doesn't give a holistic understanding of art history globally. Guest speakers are quite interesting.

While I loved this class and was interested in the material, I found myself falling asleep constantly. The dark auditorium and her soothing voice had me out like a light. There were also weekly articles to read that are very long and pretty boring, but the class was fun and the discussion section was AMAZING. Good sense of humor too.

I found her lectures to be quite vague as they are only images and no actual text information. You are expected to read 1-2 long articles per week for your discussion section and attendance is necessary for all discussions and all classes at the end of the semester as it is a grade. Papers are fairly easy and exams are easy as long as you read.

Enjoyed having Dr. Palmer for Intro to Art History. Very lecture heavy, but always prompt and patient with students. If there's ever an issue where you're struggling to understand the material, reach out to her and she'll help you immediately. Definitely would recommend.

Had her for intro to Art History. Very easy A if you attend the occasional lecture, go to your discussion, and write decent essays. I only attended half the lectures and left with a 99 in the class. Sends the test questions before the tests, which are essay exams. Lectures can be on the boring side but enthusiasts will appreciate Palmer's passion.

This class is in the museum classroom which is nice, but the room it too big and it is hard to get to know other people in the class. The museum assignments were fun because we spent the class time walking around the museum.

Beware, she will make you study over like 100 powerpoint slides and choose only 10-12 paintings for the exam. You have to know the artists name, name of the painting, and the date it was created. She's very picky about how you word things on your essays. (you get three 5 page papers). It is very tedious and heavy workload

She was very helpful. She makes you work for you're grade. If you are unsure of the assignment make sure you reach out to her for assistance. She is very flexible if you email her. She's a good teacher but you do have to work for your grade.

Professor Palmer is an alright instructor. I had her for Non-Western Art online. You've to do two essays for each unit. The essays have to be five pages. This class can be kind of too much, if you're a full-time employee and student. I believe if you just do all the essays and the discussions then you will pass!

I liked Dr. Palmer but art is not my thing. If you're taking this just to get you're fine arts credit this class is difficult. If you're into art its a great class for you

Professor Palmer is an awesome professor. I highly recommend her. I came into this class with no interest in the history of art whatsoever but she certainly fixed that. She gives you 100 pieces of art to memorize and 8 are on the test. However, if you break down the studying to 10 a night, you can study them all in a week before the test, no issue

I loved Allison! I enjoyed her lectures and she really makes you look at art differently.She gives you 80+ images to memorize and picks out 8 for exams. Exams take effort.

I only took this class because I heard it was easy. This woman makes it really difficult and frustrating. She gives you lists with hundreds of pieces of art that you're supposed to memorize, and then for the test she picks 8 random ones and you're given 5 minutes per piece to write an essay. 8 essays total, 2 bonus identifications. Worst class ever

If you want to take understanding art with her, don't. It is not worth the time and effort needed to do well. She expects you to know too much art for the tests. She'll literally just give you lists with tons of art on it and expects you to know it all for the exam. If you're an art history major, she's the prof for you, but if not, don't take her.

Pretty boring class, but Prof. Palmer is cool. This was confirmed when I saw her at the Democratic Party headquarters in Norman. Anyone who doesn't vote for Bush can't be that bad no matter how boring Art History is! (And this is coming from an Art Major.)

Her tests are ridiculous you have to KNOW about 100 pieces of art and of course she only tests you on 10 of them. You have in class writing essays , you only have 15 minutes to complete she actually took off points because my essay "wan't organized" and got taken off for not indenting paragrahs
