Slattery is our only sunshine at UWG. He gives out extra credit and study guides out on the regular. I look forward to showing up to class and listening to him speak about not only chemistry but the interesting live lessons he brings along with them. He is the Yoda of chemistry, trying to teach us the way of not just chemistry but life also.

I took Gen Chem 2 online with Dr Slattery. Very nice professor to work with through Georgia's eCore college network. I was very thankful to Dr Slattery throughout the course. He understands that the course material is very difficult and does his best to give everyone the opportunity to take the quizzes and extend deadlines if necessary.

I stopped going to his lectures about halfway through because he prefers to use lecture time to ramble on and tell stories. If you want to learn from him, office hours are required. Otherwise, the internet is your friend. Also, be sure to write all units and any unit conversions within a problem. If you don't, you will be heavily deducted.

Slattery is a great guy, but he is SO hard to follow because he gets off topic so easily. The textbook helps a lot, because I spent most of the class trying to teach myself everything.

This course was the most difficult course I have ever taken, including my nursing courses when I obtained my RN degree! All of his online lessons were copy and pasted straight from the book and then just referenced the book for more info. There were between 2-6 quizzes per lesson which is only in 1 week! Very work/quiz heavy with little support.

Dr. Slattery was a fantastic teacher. He showed genuine interest in the students. He got off track a lot but his class was always fun! I took Physical science with him over the summer so it was a month long class. All the quizzes and tests were online so overall super easy! We did lots of fun experiments.

I took Chem 1212 with him over the summer and honestly, it was so much more enjoyable than I was expecting.It was a small class and he was so helpful. He is so nice and patient when you need extra help and is willing to see things your way.His tests are challenging but not extremely difficult, especially if you study. Totally recommend him!!

Great and really smart professor! He gets off topic a bit during class and may not be entirely clear on a subject, but he will definitely help you understand further if needed. Very passionate about teaching, which is always important, and he really knows what he is talking about. Very nice and I would suggest taking his course.

Prof. Slattery is awesome. All I had to do was come to lecture and pay attention, and I was able to gain a great understanding of the material. I did not even have to go over the material at home. His explanations and examples make chemistry concepts easy to comprehend. Goes out of his way to make sure all of his students succeed.

This professor is a fantastic human being, which makes him even a better teacher! Chem 4611 is probably one of the most difficult courses one can take on undergraduate level. He not only made this course palatable, but also interesting! He used no textbook, and literally drew his notes on the board. DON'T MISS ANY CLASSES.

Slattery is the dept chair right now so he's there for a reason. He is a great person, and loves chemistry plus a bunch of other subjects. Took him summer 2010, and was pretty easy. Tests are okay, draw every graph that he does in class bc they will be on tests! He does rant and get off topic but its funny sometimes.

good teacher to catch up on you reading or sleeping... Loves to hear himself talk, will explain the whole universe during class and explain the lectured material the last 5mins. makes you seem like you have A.D.D. , mind will wander. watching reruns of the Deadliest Catch or How its made on the Discover Channel interesting.

He has one of the biggest hearts I've ever seen in a person. He was always willing to help and will go out of his way to do so. I really love this man, because he really understand when people sometimes have personal problems that may conflict with their school work and he is willing to work around them.

I took chem 1212 over the summer and i couldn't have asked for a better professor than Dr.Slattery. He tries to help out in every way he can. He even did review sessions every week. Just make sure you take good notes in class.
