This professor offered two students feedback on a total of five different papers. Rather than learning new information, we did the same thing five different times with different papers.

Good Professor. Very helpful when it comes to understanding material. BE PREPARED TO READ. If you do not keep up, you will fall behind and not get good participation points during class. Online quizzes over books as well as short discussion papers. Not too difficult.

This class wasn't bad. You can get a A if you are good in English a B or C if not. There is a lot of reading but I actually like the books and the teacher is nice. She does give you good advice and I believe that she does grade mostly fair. I would take her again.

If you expect to do all the work and turn everything in on time and get an "A", you're going to be disappointed. No matter how hard I worked on the assignments, or how original or thoughtful I tried to be in my responses and papers, I rarely got above a "B". This isn't a bad class or a bad prof, but there's little feedback and slooooooow grading...

I took this as an online class and I'm happy I did. I had to read 5 books and write a short response and take a quiz for each one. There's a 3-4 page essay at the end but it's pretty easy. She gives feedback for 2 of the 5 responses and she's usually pretty thorough and helpful.

As long as you stay on top of the deadlines and have a general idea of the material you will do fine. She is very open minded. She was very clear on her expectations & course requirements.

Great teacher, she is nice and tries to keep the class interesting. Overall easy class as long as you read all of the books. There were 5 books for my class roughly 350 pages each. I hate to read and I did fine in the class.

This class really didn't help me at all, but it was super easy. The books were decent, not my favorite. As long as you submit your papers on time, you should get an A.

This class is easy if you study for the quizzes and write a decent paper. Soemtimes she can be very late in returning assignments and doesn't always tell you everything that is required on a paper. Make sure to stay on top of it!

Great lady. Assigned seating even at this level. Encouraging, supportive, understanding. Picks AWESOME books to read. Very good at giving everyone a chance to speak. She is SO accepting of ALL ideas. Speak up, come to class, KNOW how to write (you should at this level)and you're GOLDEN! Highly recommend, will take every class she offers in Grad!

Her class is geared towards discussion. As long as you speak up and do well on the quizzes, you'll be golden. The seating chart gets rather troublesome, but all in all her class was a cake walk. Don't be surprised by the all the readings-- it is a reading intensive class-- but it's novels and short stories, not boring textbooks.

She was so intresting and nice - her fashion sense is fun, too. She's always willing to help, but don't take her classes unless you like to participate in class discussions, because that's the format of most of her classes.

I've had Alpana for 2 upper ENG classes and can't seem to nail an A on a paper for the life of me - Maybe I can't write but I put an awful lot of effort into it! She really likes in-class discussions that can be overkill sometimes.

She gave us the opportunity to explore ideas of our own instead of trying to feed us her ideas. She gave us enough background information for us to create informed opinions then allowed the entire class to discuss them. Her grading criteria could definitely be clearer though.

Dr. Sharma is one of my favorite teachers at WSU. She has a very lively personality and also a very lively wardrobe. She is very insightful and prompts meaningful discussions in class. There was a lot of reading, but the books were good and relevant to the course. I highly recommend her.

Favorite teacher at WSU. Really genuine lady who is fun to listen to. Encourages class discussions. Class is pretty easy as long as you show up for class and read a couple novels. I wish I had her for more classes.

Dr. Sharma is very helpful for everything. She tries to clarify anything that you don't understand. This class consists of a lot of reading, but only one test over each book and most were open book. I would recommend taking this class, it's pretty easy.

Sharma is a nice lady, but you will pull your hair out having to listen to the irrelevant discussion most of the class. Her favorite students are the ones who like to hear themselved talk as much as she likes to hear herself talk. She chose good books for the class.

I really like Dr. Sharma. This class wasn't as structured as it could have been/as I wished it would be, but overall it wasn't too bad. Dr. Sharma is very helpful if you have questions, as well.
