Currently taking and having problems. Asked for a rubric on how he grades translations - he doesn't have one. Gave us a 2:00 hr exam to write in 1:15. Doesn't give actual translation tips; we just do translations at home and come to class to get the "answers". Not what I would call helpful in a subject I hope to centre my career around!

Scott Jamieson is a nice prof, however if I had not had a strong french history in high school it is likely I would have failed this course. He is not a difficult marker but he is very unclear in his lectures and does not give general rules. I didn't feel like I learned anything new from this course. Very boring class.

even tho i failed the course i did like jamieson. i did love french and still enjoy it. he doesnt give any feedback in the way of improving your performance which i found to be a problem. i wouldnt take another course taught by him sadly, even tho i did enjoy his classes, he just didnt explain concepts well enough and gave no feedback.

I love Jamieson! He is very easy to understand and is willing to help with any questions. Actually pay attention in class and show him your interested and you wont have any problems. He does grade a little hard, but its university level, its not suppose to be easy!

I found Mr. Jamieson a very helpful prof. If you don't understand something he takes the time to help. He knows what he is talking about and because of that. Mr jamieson is fair yet tough, he wants all his students to do well. he also has a sense of humor Overall i thought he was great and look forward to taking another corse in the winter with him

not a very good teacher at all!!!! .. i like french, but would actully never take french if i had to take it with him again!! .. his lectures are boring, they suck, and i think he has less intrest in teaching us as we h ave in listening to him.. and his directions for the whole course are very very very unclear!!

Pretty good prof...Seeing how there aren't many good french profs at MUN, he's not bad. If you make an honest effort, go to class and actually listen, you'll do fine...His french is easy to understand and he makes sure what he's saying is clear. He's not boring either! He's pretty nice too, just don't leave in the middle of class.

not good at all. I've seen bad profs, but this one made them all look like saints. picks on students, makes you feel worthless, refuses to speak english, very unclear, acts as if he is determined to see everybody fail, not helpful at all. grades very hard and unfair for a beginners course. avoid at all costs!!

Avoid at all costs. This man is insanely hard marker at the higher level. Low level I have heard he is fine, but he is one tough cookie. 6 people in my class who have nothing but As in french had major problems with the course. Doesn't matter how much work you do, you will get the exact same mark.
