Amy really made our Art& the Self class (a fantastic course which she designed herself) feel like a family. Her teaching engendered a constructive classroom where we could discuss and debate our ideas in a safe, respectful environment. We all learned so much about each other, and about ourselves as artists and educators. Brilliant, caring teacher.

Amy was always welcoming, and great for going to for help. She was always supportive. This class was a great intro into the ADE department, and was my favorite course of that semester. The discussions in class made you feel like you were being heard, and the reflections to readings helped me feel comfortable in the ADE community. Great experience.

amy is an amazing person who really cares about her students. when it comes to strictly academic classes, she can be VERY difficult to follow, but when one-on-one mentoring, she is the most inspiring professor i've ever had. yes she can be confusing and has strong opinions, but she fights for them, and truly believes in her students

As students who are becoming teachers we need a role model; she is not one. She may be experienced but that does not give her the excuse to say anything whenever pleases. She has told people in our class that she dreads coming to our class every week. She does not think before she speaks and as a result leaves people feeling like crap.

Her class was not wonderful so I get the reviews, but she is so helpful outside the classroom. She will listen to you, she will forward your resume, she will care for you years after you graduate. It is obvious that her students and the department is her passion and I love that about her. I am on team Amy because she is a fabulous character!

Too bad people don't get what she is. The department is great because of Amy. She is a great teacher and she is highly knowledgeable. People don't always like what she has to say--too bad for them. She respects hard work and high standards. Very funny, almost seems naive but she definitely is not.
