She gives clear info on what is to be done. However, she is very nit-picky about everything. I feel like I gave an arm and a leg for her papers and could never get a great grade.

Wow! Shes a fabulous, challenging professor. Tough grader, but clear and concise with her expectations. I learned so much from her and would have taken every course she offered, had my schedule allowed. Lots of writing, but I love to write. I learned so much and she has truly prepared me for graduate level coursework. Excellent instructor!

I was skeptical about Amy at first because of all the mixed comments but she's a really good professor and her class is extremely easy. Just show up, take your quizzes (online and very easy) , and do your papers! Easy pass.

Absolutely horrible. In group communication she doesn't use any rubrics and hardly engages with us students. Probably worst professor I've had at Toledo. She is awful at giving instruction.

The fact that Dr. Burns teaches interpersonal communication and group communication is the height of irony. Her lack of skills in both departments would be laughable if I wasn't in her class. Assignment instructions are needlessly complicated and confusing. What's worse is how hard she grades assignments based on said details. Worst prof ever.

She had homework due every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Usually a new chapter had to be read every time homework was due. It was too much for me to handle being a full time student and working 30+ hours a week.

Amy is a pretty good teacher. For a non-communication major, this class was a breeze. Her lectures were very clear-cut and the exam material came straight from the lectures. She is pretty strict about attendance and participation. You actually got points off for missing more than 3 classes. Go to class and participate? Easy A.

Amy is a very good teacher! She knows her stuff! Come to class on time and complete reading assignments and quizzes before class starts and you'll be okay! PROS: helpful when asked questions and responds to e-mails promptly CONS: sometimes talks very fast and rushes through material because in-class activities take too long--NO PPTS :(

Your grade was made up of 10 small fun group projects, 3 exams and a final essay. She made the class fun and the group projects really helped you learn the concepts she was teaching. The book was semiuseful but as long as you took notes in class you would do just fine. The final essay was tough but do good in the rest of the class and youll do ok.

Worst professor I have had during my 4 years!Wont let you make up missing assignments and barley gives you any extra credit!She gave me an F in my final semester of my senior year and would not let me make up any work for even half points after I explained my situation and that I needed this class in order to graduate. She is a very tough grader

I don't feel too strongly about her either way. The way her online class was set up made the class pretty easy as long as you kept up and turned things in on time. But for the final to be a group project in an online class was totally awful! I would've rather gone back and done it myself than be in a group for such a major project.

Such a fun class. 8 weeks long 3 times a week for 2 hours but it's well worth it. Really teaches you things that you need to know in life in general. tests are easy if you take notes and study before the test. Must go to class

Fam. Comm Online: She's a HORRIBLE teacher. I've never received lower than an A on a paper until I took this class (I'm a senior in my 2nd semester). She accused me of turning in the wrong paper on purpose early in the semester & for my final paper (she didn't give a page min/max) wrote 7.5 pages and followed her EXACT instructions and got 100/150

By far one of the worst professors I have ever had for an online class. The material is simple and very blah as it is. We are in college we have worked in groups before. But she takes it to a whole new level. Im mostly upset with her grading. Unless she writes your paper for you, you wont get an A. For group grading she expects way to much.

I took it online. The material is easy and interesting so are the quizzes, online 5 questions. However her papers are hard to get an A. I got all A's in her class but seemed to get D's and F's on the papers. I asked for help but she said I had an A in the class and not to worry but then kept giving be bad grades on the papers..not helpful w papers
