Enjoyed Public Speaking with her. Very specific, follow directions and you'll do well. GO TO CLASS. She rewards perfect attendance. 5 speeches per semester, on a variety of self-chosen topics. No testsquizzestextbook. Knows what she's doing. Great professor. You really improve by the end of the semester.

No book. 5 Speeches. No testsquizzes. Participation is a big part of grade. She's good, fun, informative, but won't knock your socks off.

Avoid this professor!! she is rude and disorganized. She makes a big deal about power points but hers actually aren't any good. Her power points are not up to date. Being in her class drags on and on and on and then you realize you didn't learn anything but how to use the notes section on powerpoint.

She's okay, she's one of the profs that really doesn't stand out like some others. Really nice person and gives A LOT of feedback on speeches so you know what to work on and what's good (p.s. always gives positive feedback). Best part of class: not textbook, finds it pointless. Worst part: class can feel repetitive at times

So... Dr. Walters could be a good teacher except she doesn't go by the class syllabus. She is not organized, one week we'll be talking about something then weeks will pass before we get back to it. You MUST like group projects, its ridiculous how many there are. Extra credit can be done in almost every assignment and tests are worth 5% of the clas

Don't take her for Vis Lit! She is very unorganized and doesn't clarify due dates. She is very rude and acts like she knows everything. The topic of the class is actually interesting but I ended up hating the class because of Dr. Walters.

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!! she is a nasty, rude professor who doesn't care about her students that she doesn't favor. very judgmental, doesn't mind humiliating her students in front of the whole class. actually makes a point to negatively critique everyone and to get the students to say bad things about their classmates as well. worst classes ever.

Visual literacy in the end is an easy A or B but getting there is awful. 3 group presentations throughout the semester. You have to make 5 powerpoints through the semester of your own and she calls people at random to present but grades easy on them. Tests are really hard but in total only worth 15% of your grade. Annoying class but you'll pass.

She is by far my least favorite professor I have ever had. She rambles on about nonsense and grades strictly on the most pointless things. Disregard the positive comments because she is awful. She makes public speaking way harder than is has to be. Take another professor for this class.

Public speaking was very easy. But, she is veryy disorganized so just save all the grades you get back from her just in case you need to prove you got an A and not a B on a speech like I had to. If you're a mediocre-to-great public speaker, you'll be just fine. Easy A or B for a grad requirement.

Do NOT take for visual literacy. Reads directly from power points then critiques student power point presentations. Takes FOREVER to grade tests (still waiting for one as I'm typing this...been waiting for over two weeks) and doesn't even grade worksheets she hands out...leaves those to her "assistant"

Absolutely horrible experience. Socially inept prof, secretive assignments, and no semblance of structure in her class whatsoever. She likes to walk slowly around the room, literally making up facts to tell the class. The tests are thrown together with opinion-based questions based on her own cultural philosophies, with no real relevance to Vis Lit

Avoid taking her for visual literacy. If you do have her though, keep the syllabus, because you are responsible for knowing when things are due! Her lectures were boring and most of the test questions were from the book anyway (100+ pages per test). She assigns a lot of work and doesn't give much credit for any of it.

This class was extremely easy and she was very lenient with you and your grade. The topics on the speeches were really easy to comply with and she never made anything impossible. Disregard any negative comments about her with public speaking. Unless you blatantly don't listen to her instructions, you're sure to get at least C+ for trying.

Disregard the review below me. Easy class. She makes public speaking painless. She gives you every possible hint at what she is looking for. Do exactly what she says and you will get a good grade. I got an A not because I was a good speaker, but because I did what I was told to do. She will not make you a great speaker, only u can do that!

Awful teacher. Assigns you random letter grade, no rubric or point system. Assigns topics that are ridiculous. Doesn't teach you ways to improve your speaking, all you do is give speeches with instruction to better yourself. I would never take her again and I would never recommend her to anyone. Stay away.

Dr. Walters is by far the worst professor I have had at Slippery Rock so far. She has no idea what she is doing. Her class is so unorganized and pointless it will drive you crazy. Not to metion the tests are impossible, I studied for weeks and barely got B's. Aviod this class at all costs. It ruined my semester and brought down my GPA

This woman teaches like you are in kindergarten. Day one she says she will never prompt you with a specific speech. Then she passes out a paper with all your specific speech topics. Waste of time!!!! For god sake dont take her.
