Dr. Klimt is the best professor in the SOA dep Took her memory course for elective and she really stimulates conversation and definitely cares about her students. Readings are short, and you can pick 8/12 assignments that count for HW, all others are Extra credit or for absence, stay on top of assignments and participate, easy and interesting A

I have taken Dr. Klimt for 3 classes and am coming back for a 4th. She is genuine, kind, caring and a lot of fun. PARTICIPATE and stay on top of assignments and you'll do fine. No exams just writing assignments/reports. Expect a fresh air classroom doors/windows open or outside when weather is nice enough. :)

Had her for intro to anthro, she's a really nice lady and you can tell she cares about her students. Lot's of class assignments which is basically the HW, don't fall behind on those because it's that and the two papers that make up your grade. Interesting course but you can tell the anthro/sociology department is desperate for students.

This class was A LOT of reading. Writing was relatively heavy, but nothing to cry about. Until you do the final paper. Then you can cry as much as you want. Had to do two interviews and small field study for a 10 page paper. Fortunately, she is VERY specific with the expectations of said paper. No final exam.

She is a great professor and it's an interesting course, but the workload for this specific class is abundant. If you don't like working for your grade I wouldn't suggest this class, but if you like want to have fun and have interest in a class I do recommend it. Professor Klimt is awesome and I am taking her for a third time next semester.

Her classes were very interesting. She is one of the best professors I have had at UMD and I'm taking another one of her classes again. You don't have to take any classes, but you make up for it with a lot of assignments that lead up to a 8-10 page research paper. She does help you along the way though so its not as bad as it seems.

I adore this woman. She is the kindest person and genuinely cares for her students. Her class is insightful and interesting, and all assigned readings are worth the read. I would take any class with Professor Klimt, she's an absolute darling.

Does not answer emails cleary - When I asked for help regarding delegation for "group work" kept referencing she is "Chair" of Soc dept... really tried to help but did not. Would not take SOC 316 if you wanted to have "equal" group work... group members did not do 100% and she still graded them ok.

Dr. Klimt was wonderful. If you expect an easy grade, I suggest you go elsewhere. No exams, just pure critical thinking. Always corrected assignments on time and made every class enjoyable. Thanks for the great semester.

The best classes I've taken in college have been with this professor. The classes aren't anything close to easy, and resemble that of a course offered at an Ivy-League school, but the same goes for what the course has to offer. Go to class, do the work, you'll get back twice as much as what you put into it.

Klimt is a savvy person; is a bit conventional when it comes to student interpretation of readings, i.e., doesn't care much for the overall view and loves specifics, and I didn't like the specifics offered. Other than that, this professor is top notch.

Prof. Klimt's classes are challenging yes, but so engaging and worth taking! She expects a lot from her students, but that's because she puts a lot of effort into the classes she teaches. Go to class, do the assignments, read the readings, and have fun!Prof. Klimt is ALWAYS willing to help, so don't be afraid to talk to her outside of class.
