Dr. Dolby is adorable, sweet, and fair. You can tell he has a passion for what he does. The material itself is hard so it requires at least 3 good study sessions per test, lecture does a lot to help comprehension. He's a great teacher and very good at making the material digestible.

I highly recommend this class to any upper level bio majors, but it fills quickly. Dolby is one of the best bio professors out there, and his passion for birds makes the class so much more interesting. All the tests were take home, except the final, and you get to go on field trips almost every week. It's worth going to class at 8am.

Comment:

Animal Behavior is definitely an interesting class. You get to watch a lot of videos and hear about awesome case studies. He is a hard grader on the tests, but not unfair. I recommend this class, especially cause Dolby is one of the best Bio professors.

If you go to class and pay attention to his power points this class is pretty easy. He has his quirks and can be awkward at times but I felt that made him more approachable. He is also very willing to help his student in lab or any thing else they may need involving the class! All in all I recommend this class!

I never realized how good Dr. Dolby was in comparison to other professors until I had to take class with someone else. You begin to appreciate how straight forward and explicit dr. Dolby is on what you need to know and you can actually WORK for your grade and get the grade you deserve unlike other professors in the deptartment. TAKE DOLBY!

Love Dr. Dolby! He is great and I loved both classes that I took with him. I never missed class. He does videos, jokes, and funny pictures to help lecture not be boring. VERY helpful, down to earth. LOVES birds. Tests not difficult, just pay attn. in class. Read if need to, I stopped. Lab mandatory for ornithology, but won't mind. Go on field trip!

I took him for eco and animal behavior. He is an awesome teacher, very enthusiastic and fun but really knows his stuff. His upper level classes are relaxed and he takes "Youtube breaks". Tests are mixed format. Really is meant to be a teacher, one of the best bio teachers. I love this guy! Take him if you can.

I LOVE Dolby. he is so nice and so fair. I had him for senor seminar and ornithology and got an A in both. He is so helpful and understands that we are not perfect. Tests are very reasonable if you study a bit, and he makes learning about birds fun and managable. He keeps lectures clear and to the point. DEF recommend for anything
