Man, I can't tell you what a cool dude Dr. Shawen is. The man is passionate about his studies. I have lot of respect for him. he doesn't have an unrelenting perspective as far as what the text means. If you write a paper for him, as long as you can back up your idea with material from the text, you're good by him. Loved the classes. Classy.

Dr. Shawen is one of the toughest professors I have ever encountered during my college career. However, the knowledge that I walked away with was unprecedented. I pretty much dreaded taking his Shakespeare class because the man is an absolute Shakespeare aficionado!! But, I learned a ton and proved to myself that I can accomplish the impossible!

Shawen is a wonderful professor. This class is very challenging seeing how you only have 3 papers, 2 articles, 1 final. If you pay attention in class, participate, you will pass. Shawen is humorous and has high expectations of his students. Don't come to class late and have the material READ!!!!

Dr. Shawen is Richard Gere :) Actually, he reminds me of the guy Barry Newfeld on the movie The Mirror has Two Faces. He's a great sport with a terrific sense of humor. But he is ellitest and a little stuffy at first. His lectures are stimulating and he can make an interesting point out of almost anything students say. He's brilliant! B+

Professor Schawen is an excellent professor. The way he grades papers is to your benifit. He gives a total of 6 500 word essays which aren't bad at all and thats' it.He is so helpful and always makes it possible to get at the minium a B.I loved his class and he cracks alot of jokes also. Take him!!

Dr. Shawen is my favorite professor. I have taken every class he's taught. He's intelligent and I love his reading selections. Unlike professors who just read through texts, he points out interesting information and facts to help with interpretation.
