Comment:

Bases that since one person in the class is receiving an A on exams that the rest of us should be too (our class average keeps dropping). Constantly plugs his own materials and writing. Many of us can not make it to the extra credit events due to schedule conflicts. He's an easy grader on homework though. Exams are multiple choice and he curves.

Comment:

Dr. Freight is a very nice person, but oh boy is he boring. His lectures are hard to follow and there isn't a textbook or PowerPoint to get the info. Nobody ever felt prepared enough for exams, which consist only of extended response & short answer questions. He does do discussion boards and extra credit for some easy(ish) points.

Not a bad professor, lectures the whole class period. Nice and willing to help outside of class. We had weekly journals to write 650 word min. not a super hard grader just make sure you use quotes. Midterm and final was a take home essay over prompts from lecture. Takes participation grade and offers extra credit

Had him for History & Civ Lit. Got a B+ in both classes. He's a good professor, kind of boring. His lectures are long, he gives out a guide but it's not all that helpful. You write a lot. Several blue book essays, as well as take home essays. He does give out study guides for the essays though. Id recommend him, he's kind of funny and a good guy!

He has high expectations but if you do exactly what is asked, then you will be fine. Tests are essay style but the questions are taken straight from the study guide. Take good notes.

I would take again, lecture are long but very informative. He gives you the materials and questions needed for his essay exams. Expect homework but not hard. Skipping his class is not option if you want to pass.

Comment:

I've taken doctor Feight's classes twice since being at Shawnee. He is not at all like what some people on here are saying. Yeah, he has different political views, but why judge someone for that? I found his classes interesting and I remembered the content long after. Recommended if you enjoy a challenge.

Had several of his classes. He's not boring, but he uses his classes as a political outlet to vent his viewpoints. If you can overlook this and like American history, you'll probably be fine. However if you can't and don't (like myself), then I don't recommend him.

He actually made history interesting, if that's possible. I'd take him again. Four quizzes, multiple choice and midterm and final, bluebook essays. He does give you the exact questions on the midterm and final. But he pairs them and you have to pick one from each group so you have to study them all. Haha. He's funny.

I loved Dr. Feight!!! He is VERY knowledgable about the subject and keeps your interest. When I had him, he gave us a list of possible questions for the test and they were the exact questions, you just don't know which ones he is going to pick. Very good class!!!

Dr. Feight is a serious professor but he has a dry sense of humor. He knows what he's talking about and will help anybody out. His tests can be a little difficult but just study and go to class. He also hands out lecture outlines that really help keep notes in order.
