Dr. Graciano was my favorite professor of the semester. His lectures were so interesting, and he is extremely knowledgeable about the subject. He genuinely cared about the success of his students. Before each exam, he would give a list of what paintings would be on the exam. Only three exams and a paper, but if you take notes you will get an A!

One of the best classes I've ever taken. I looked forward to Dr. Graciano's lectures as he made history interesting & inspiring. I would recommend not skipping class as it's difficult to get the kind of information he provides from searching google. Just take notes and put some effort into making your own study guides.

Best instructor I ever had. Took 2 classes with him and I'll probably take more. He inspired me to learn more about Art History and even make it my minor.

Awful instructor. No book, 3 exams and all lecture - slides of pieces of art work were helpful in class but he only provided links in the list of possible works on tests. Most of the links did not work - must have been an old list that he never updated. His approach to grading was very unclear. Would not take another class of his EVER.

Comment:

I took this as a summer class. I had heard how horrible art history was and how you needed to study so many hours or fail. Professor Graciano presented what could of been boring material in an interesting way. I sketched each of the pieces we went over in class and made flash cards, maybe that might help you prepare. Was much easier than expected.

Fantastic class. Enjoyed it so much I decided to take another that he teaches. It's all lecture, but he throws in some jokes here and there. It's dad humor, but still hilarious. Don't skip class. If you're having an issue in/out of class that's showing in your grades, just talk to him. He'll work with you.

GREAT professor. Really nice and funny guy, very helpful and a good at communicating with you outside of class. I genuinely enjoyed the lectures, but I know art history can be dry for some. He doesn't take attendance, but if you don't go you won't get any of the material. Take notes, make flashcards and don't buy the textbook, never used it.

Honors course on Art & Anatomy. He was a great prof and was clearly very knowledgeable on the course topic. He even arranged for us to examine old medical illustrations in the Hollings Library, which was really helpful. Discussion-based, seminar-style course with a final presentation and term paper. If you have the option for this course, take it!

Loved his class! He lectures on slides of paintings and makes it interesting and fun. Prepare to do a lot of writing. Studying is easy if you attended class. Make flash cards when you are studying for the exams! The only grades for the class are exams so no homework! I would definitely recommend this class if you have an interest in Art History!

Excellent teacher. He enjoys what he does and places the information into an easy to understand contemporary context. There is a lot of information to write down for each painting or artwork we cover, but realize in the end if you know five quick facts for each painting, you should do well. You have to like what you're studying.

Great professor, very challenging. His lectures are fascinating, as he makes every painting into an interesting story. He adds a lot of humor and entertainment to what could otherwise be a painfully dry survey of art history. Like others said, if you make flash cards and attend lectures, you'll probably make an A.

Dr. Graciano is very knowledgable and one of the greatest professors I have ever had. I have made 100's in every class. Make flash cards and go to class and you can do the same. Tests are easy as long as you have studied. He is willing to meet you halfway, as long as you come to class and study. Would reccommend over and over again.

So adorable! You'll write constantly. He shows a slide with a work of art, and you write what he says. Tests are straightforward and easy if you study. No surprises. He can speak sort of softly, so if you have a hard time hearing, sit up front. Never used the textbook.

I love this professor and his class. He is very clear in what his expectations are. It is such a relief to have at least one class not to worry about. Take notes and study them before the test. that is all there is to it! He is freaking hot as crap and very nice. seriously, sometimes I forgot what he was talking about from looking staring hard:-)
