Very nice guy who's very passionate about what he does. It's a hard class, but he does his best to make it understandable. The homework assignments were quite annoying, especially when you need to study for the test but have to complete a large amount of difficult CNOW questions. I'd recommend studying the course packet for exams.

He is a nice guy, but not the best teacher. Because he assigns readings and problems before class, he goes over new material very quickly. He's not very clear in his explanations, and you have to do a lot of learning outside of class. His final is cumulative, and most of your grade will come from the tests. Lots of partial credit. Wouldn't retake.

I really like McLelland, but his teaching style is often counterproductive. Asking every student a question about every little part of a question can make the real answers hard to discern. Very approachable. Memorize the fund types, go to class, do the homework. Reading the book really helps you learn what wasn't clear because of how he teaches it.

McLelland was the worst professor I've had at Auburn. His lectures were all over the place and he got side tracked easily. Couldn't answer questions by the students. Goes around the room and makes people participate which is counterproductive. Tests were impossible and he was an unfair grader. The final was all multiple choice and cummalative.

McClelland is a great guy, but he really doesn't make much sense. If you don't already know enough about this subject, I wouldn't recommend taking him for 2110. He's not very coherent (even when asked specific questions) so you'll have to study the book and maybe use some outside sources just to pass. Basically sent me into an existential crisis.

He was assigned to teach our class at the last minute and it seemed like he was making it way harder to get good grades than it needed to be. He wasn't a very clear lecturers and I went every day and sat on the front row and paid attention yet I didn't really learn anything. I ended up having to drop the class.

McLelland is super passionate about what he teaches, but his class is one that I couldn't stand. He makes a point to try and ask every student a question for each class period, he contradicts himself on a lot of the problems, and his tests are so devising. However, he's always there to talk over the material and help out. So... ok professor?

Completely unclear when he teaches because he rambles about the most specific details and doesn't tie anything together. Very sweet professor and completely willing to help, but GET THE BOOK AND READ IT; don't rely only on lecturesnotes. Study a lot before hand and know the details. Class isn't mandatory but he assigns seats, so he'll know.

A great person & professor. I would take him again. He is funny and makes class interesting. Always available and makes the material easy to understand. He has a genuine concern for his students and their progression. There are 4 tests, 2 small projects and a speech. Go to class and take notes. He does ask an above-average amount of questions.

Not very clear with what you need to know for tests. Spends an entire class on one problem because he spends a minute asking each person a small question. He says you only need to know the essentials, then on his tests he throws very small details at you.

McLelland is a nice guy but totally useless as a teacher. I had him for governmental accounting and he constantly contradicted himself and got his own problems wrong. He interchanged different terms for the same idea but then failed to mention that the two terms were exactly the same. Terrible teacher and essentially useless in office hours.

Great prof, always available. even came in on Saturday to help students with the project, never had a prof do that before. Makes class entertaining, and he's funny, which makes going to class much easier. I didn't care for the course, but he is one of the better profs I've had at Auburn. His concern for the students helped keep me on track.

Hard class! Not a great teacher but nice guy. Makes class interesting and gives points for attendance. Maybe 2 A's in a class of 40 but very possible to get a B. Not bad overall for an Intermediate Class.

He is a very good teacher and a sweet guy! The material is difficult, but he tries his best to help you understand. He even offers optional review sessions and welcomes you in his office anytime you need help. He also gives participation points, so go to class!! I strongly recommend taking him, one of the better teachers i have had in college!!

He was a great professor. Take him if you can. It is a hard course so don't blame the teacher. You either get it or you don't. He gives attendance points and tries to make the material interesting. Always dresses professional and has it all together.

Understand that this class is hard, no matter the teacher. I worked my butt off in this class to get an A. He is a great teacher, kind of strange. You need the book to do the homework for studying purposes. He takes attendance for a grade. The tests are hard, but given the material, this is expected. Your hard work will be reflected in your grade.

Dr. McLelland is a great teacher. When you take this class be prepared, because it is a hard class regardless of the teacher. He will be more than helpful to assist you outside of class, and is very thorough and clear in class discussion. Use the Gleim book for financial accounting, go to class, and do the homework, and you will be good to go

Dr. McLelland is an awesome teacher. He explains it as clear as can be expected. He loves accounting and it shows in his lectures. The textbook however is awful. It is written on a graduate level. But Dr. McLelland does a great job of bringing it down to an undergraduate level. You can pass his class if you do the assigned problems.

Despite what he says every morning, it is not a great day for financial accounting! Dr. Andy is a good teacher and his class is a lot better than it could be. He knows what he's talking about but he sometimes has a hard time keeping it to an undergraduate level. No one loves intermediate but you have to do it so work hard and you'll be ok!

Dr. McLelland loves accounting! Go to class, read the book, do the problems, and take advantage of his office hours. He is more than willing to help, but he sometimes has a hard time getting it on a student's level. Don't be 1 minute late because it counts as an absence!
