Awesome lecturer. There's no way "The Philosophy of Work" would have been enjoyable with any other professor. Fair grader, gives great feedback on papers. My *only* gripe about his courses is that the attendance policy is a bit harsh: 25% of the grade, and you automatically fail the attendance portion if you miss more than (I think 3 or 4) classes.

Pop quizzes are his way of taking attendance. 3, 5-7 page essays - that's it. Go to every class (take notes) and do all the readings. This is a lot of work so don't take this as an "easy A". The class is easy to pass if you read, take notes and go to class. I personally find the readings hard and boring.

Incredible professor and course. Very engaging. A lot of reading but very valuable and thought provoking reads. The best class I have taken at USM and I would recommend it to anyone. Will most definitely be taking another class with Jason.

Prof. Read expects a lot of you every week. You have several long readings to complete over the semester as well as three 5 page essays. If you are looking for an easy credit here do not take this class.

Professor Read expects a lot from his students. His youth is a refreshing addition to the philosophy department. He is very helpful. A lot of students say that they do not like his grading style, but it is just because they are lazy and do not want to put the effort into getting a better grade. High effort required.High quality education received.

OK, I admit I took the class partialy because so many of you wrote he was cute, plus everyone needs their philosophy credit, right?:)Prof. Read is very smart and has a great sense of humor. He always explained the readings and the lectures were interesting.I can say that the class was useful and it made me look at things differently.

I am loving this class, although that may be more due to my crush on him than any real interest in political philosophy. Besides that, he really does know his stuff and his lectures are very helpful. Classes are well worth attending and I would highly recommened taking a class with him.

Professor Read only lectures every once in a while in my class (It is taught by three teachers), but he is very clear and helpful. His lectures make difficult readings understandable and he always adds in his dry, sarcastic brand of humor which is great. He knows his stuff for sure, plus he is so cute. I love his outfits!

Loved his lectures, they were always interesting. he was never bias and always looked at both sides of a philosophical idea, searching and investigating it. three papers in the class, a choice between six subjects, it was always interesting and easy enough. good class!
