Great teacher, very thorough and fair. His tests covered things we learned in class and were not that hard if you went to class. The curve was so low because maybe 20% of the class showed up to lectures on a regular basis. If you're the kind of person who goes to class and listens you will do well.

Class uses online textbook and homework system (Aplia.com). Lectures are long and boring though he gives you a break in the middle of it. Take your laptop and take notes on it so you can do other things at the same time. Midterms are HARD. Class average was F but he curved up to C's. Wouldn't recommend him

Anybody who thinks everyone else commenting here are habitual complainers that couldn't pass an S/U'd P.E. class will probably love Stivers.

One of the hardest classes I have taken in my college career and I'm a junior. He should be doing research and not teaching. He has a really hard time getting information across to the students, the tests are really hard, and he makes mistakes on the board where students correct him. Tried to meet with him once and he basically just said no.

The people who have a hard time in this class likely shouldn't be in college. The homework is relevant to the tests, and he grades the tests on a huge curve so it's relatively easy to get a good grade.

one of the hardest classes I have taken... Just spend a few days in the econ building with the TAs if you have trouble and you'll be ok. I learned a lot.

horrible teacher, one of the worst i've had at OSU. I love econ, (i'm a big dork) and i normally really look forward to going to any econ class but this class was horrible and confusing and poorly taught. The subjects are scrambled together and poorly outlined for test. Don't take any classes from Stivers.

Class was insanely hard but Stivers compinsated and did what he could so that we could all do well. All he cared about was us learning, not how we did on tests. He's an awesome guy and they should let him teach more game theory/information econ classes.

I learned a lot more from the aplia program than i did from the class. the homework often did not match up with stuff we were tested on. still not the worst class i ever took.

Worst econ prof I've had. He constantly confuses himself in class. He gets corrected by students, and there are long pauses while he figures out what he wrote on the board. He gave us a review sheet for the test, but no answers to it or any homework. The highest grade in the class was a 60% on the midterm, even lower when he made us do it over...

I never understood anything he talked about, the study tables offered this year taught me everything he had lectured on. It took them 1 and a half hours, and Stivers 4 weeks!

He sometimes would contradict himself. he never gave us things to review. he would just say go on aplia to review. it seems like he isnt sure how he is going to grade the class untill the end, so you dont really have any idea where you what your exact grade is ever.

Doesn't allow the use of calculators or notecards on his exams- so it makes it very difficult. He does not care if his students do well on tests- he makes the format very complicated.

He seems nice at first but eventually, once tests come around, you realize that he doesn't care if students do well in his course. He is confusing more than helpful. I would have done better if I never went to class.
