Funny guy, really enjoyed him as a person...not so much as a teacher. However, he marks fairly and the course I took with him wasn't that hard. Only avoid if you have problems with learning mainly from the textbook. If not, hes a really cool guy and definately doesn't give any students a hard time and will go out of his way to help out!!

Caash & whaat? Cash & Cash Eekwivalants! To start a class with "I've seen many of your faces before", and "most of you will what? Yes, fail my course!" isn't a wise way to teach. Then again, who said profs need to teach? Hope he's learned a LOT about teaching since '91. Thanks; I'm so against acc'tg now I changed my entire career path to avoid it!

I used to hate oppong, but basically, he's not from our culture. He's not used to **** and laziness, which is an important part of our (North) American culture. He's very smart, and if you try he'll help you. Honestly i don't think he enjoys teaching, so that's another problem...he should probaby have found a real accounting job. Is that right?

Its been rumored that he's kept in the program to root out the people that don't try and learn their stuff before class, cause if you go to his class without teaching yourself the material, you'll fail. Don't take his class.Change Majors if you have to. Switch Schools if you want to do accounting. Or at least take Cost someplace else. he smells too

The truth is That Prof, Oppong is from Africa that is why he is not liked by some students. He is very knowledgable, but does not like lazy students. Lazt students dont like him either. As, for the English issue, he certainly cannot speak like a Canadian because he is not one, but he speaks pretty good English. In fact he is a great teacher.

A great guy and one who rewards hard work. For those of you who say he can't speak or write english you need to pay attention instead of tuning out just because he's from another country. Not everyone in the world has a Nova Scotia accent...get used to it. As for his writing I don't any of you could do as well.

I am a marketing major and this class is cost accounting for marketing majors. It is a required class and that is why I took it. Unfortunately he feels that marketing majors should be as good at accounting as accountants. Impossible to understand and makes you do assignments without preparation.
