Amazing professor and class! I have been having so much fun so far (I'm halfway through a semester). The French Revolution game is really fun and I recommend the class for everyone. It is a little reading heavy but not that bad.

Comment:

Prof. Evans' class was very different from the other classes that I've taken at NP. He's very into the material which is a good and bad thing. It was good for learning the material, but bad when it came to paper critiques. To me, if you didn't explain every aspect of something, then it's hard to get an A on the papers.

Comment:

Best professor at NP. Took for a GE.. gives good feedback on writing and is always willing to spend extra time with you outside of class if you need help. His lectures are interesting because he makes jokes and gets the whole class involved and talking with circle discussions. Homework is heavy, but the readings are interesting and not hard.

The best professor I've had at New Paltz. He made me want to come to class every time and I loved learning from him. He is hilarious, caring, and really wants the best for his students. His grading can be tough, but only because he wants you to push further. Took two of his classes and wish I could have taken more. Definitely take him!

I'm an art major and I took this for credit. I'm not huge on history but this class was amazing. He definitely will make you work hard but if you do everything you will really learn a lot. He's an awesome professor

He is a great professor and he is always willing to help you whenever you need it. I took is modern Germany class this semester and I'm going to take WW2 with him next semester. I would recommend him to any student. As long as you do your work you will do fine in the class and if you are struggling he has no problem helping you be successful.

One of my favorite teachers at New Paltz. He keeps class extremely interesting and keeps the students involved in the lectures. You need to do the readings to pass the quizzes but they're not too bad. I'm not a history major but I looked forward to this class every day more than my business classes. Professor Evans is the best professor I've had at New Paltz. Though I am a history major, I think that non history majors would enjoy his classes. He's extremely intelligent but not cocky about it, and he's hilarious. You can't NOT love Andy Evans. If you get the chance, I would definitely recommend any class of his.

Professor Evans is the best history teacher I've had EVER! He was able to renew my interest in history completely. His lectures are well organized and he's never boring to listen to. Plus he's very funny and helpful! TAKE HIM! :)

One of my favorite professors at New Paltz so far. Very funny and helpful, explains things very well. Really sparked my interest in history. The class is three days a week (four credits)and on the first two days, you take notes and then on Friday you have a discussion. I never bought the actual textbook but you did need the Wiesner reader.

Professor Evans is by far one of the more refined and exceptional teachers at New Paltz. Not only is he gorgeous but his intolerance for **** is admirable. He'll call you out if you're not paying attention so try your best to stay focused. Do all the reading and talk in class. Study super hard for the tests and you'll be fine.

This was easily one of my favorite classes taken so far. He is very interested in the topic and that encourages your interest as well. Great professor, knows his stuff. Take good notes, be half awake in class, and you'll do well. Only one test at the very end, which is great ONLY if you're good at that. I was in every class, studied very hard, but since I had never been tested before, did terrible on the final. Don't expect papers anytime soon. But he's smart, hot, and kind!

Excellent teacher. Very clear and organized lessons, great visual aids used, likes hearing new opinions, and all round phenomenal professor -- the best i have had! i would recommend hi, especially for modern europe, but i think any class he teaches will be very informative, clear, and fun. he is a lot of fun and likes to joke too.
