Andy is a very great advisor. His class is lecture heavy and you either like the content or you don't, but it's clear that he's passionate about what he does. He's very helpful and is always willing to meet up with you if you have any questions. He is one of, if not the most, approachable professors on campus.

Andy is a really nice guy. He can seem kind of off-putting at first but he's super friendly and is always ready to talk. His class was basically just lectures. It could be interesting or boring, depending on the topic. Never responds to emails and is difficult to pin down, but once you do talk to him you have his full attention.

Andy is delightful. He did not organize his lectures in a way that made sense to me at first, but when my classmates and I asked for handouts he was happy to help. He is also great about finding time to meet with you outside of class if you need help.

I dug with him in Israel this past summer and enjoyed every minute of it. Andy's sense of humor and enthusiasm for archeology made getting up at 4:30 bearable. Very easy to talk to.

Andy is a hilarious teacher and a wealth of information. He tells you exactly what to expect for quizzes/midterms/finals and you go over the information beforehand. Papers are easy especially if you go to him for help with finding sources. He often gets off-topic and goes on tangents but his stories are awesome.

He's a nice guy, and I've taken to classes with him. But he seems to pick favorites, and those favorite seem to be mostly/all guys. I really wanted to dig in Israel with him but he canceled the program for this year. I am interested in archaeology but I tend to feel somewhere between ignored and a nuisance whenever I try to talk to him about it.

I honestly learned as much in the first half of the semester when I went to class everyday as in the second half when I barely went to class at all. His lectures were vague, disorganized, and he often got lost on tangents. Andy has been teaching for years, but he hasn't ever given a class numbered in the 200's. That should tell you something.

Andy is a great teacher! He's absolutely hilarious and very knowledgeable. My beef would be that his expectations for his students tend to be vague. However, if you're even remotely interested in one of his courses I strongly suggest trying it out!

Andy Overman is a great guy, knows his stuff, and his easy-going nature is a welcome relief. But don't expect to be forced to work hard...or learn much...he doesn't expect much of his students. But it's still worth taking a class of his! Very accessible
