Comment:

I've had Anelia for 3 courses at UNI and she is by far one of the most caring professors I've ever had. She definitely pushes you outside your comfort zone but that is her teaching style. I've been able to add countless projects to my portfolio because she assigns real life work and projects. Classes aren't structured at all but go with the flow!

She is very nice and caring but will push you to go out and do things you don't want to do. She will basically tell you what you should do in life. She doesn't do anything when she comes to class besides sit there and socialize. Never once has she lectured us on anything. She comes to class to talk to us about non school related things. Awful.

She's fun but not a good professor. Didn't learn a thing. I am not a huge fan of writing and she was so confusing on all of the assignments, I had no idea what to write about so it stressed me out and made me hate journalism even more... Easy to pass tho once you sit down and write loooooong stories.

Comment:

One of the worst professors I had at UNI. Had no idea what she is talking about and chooses randomly what the class is going to do. Has absolutely no structure and doesn't even know how to help you when you ask her a question. Easy grader but the stress of not knowing what you're doing isn't fun. Don't take her!

I had the night class Law & Ethics. I am not a big night class person, but she kept the classes interesting with guest speakers, trips, and great content she was covering and wanted us to be a part of and witness to. Do your blogs, show up, and be honest. That's all she expects. Great professor and skilled in journalist to be learning under!

We had some speakers and we did some outside class activities. She prefers to not give guidelines for the assignments, but if you ask she will be happy to help. Overall it is an easy class no attendance required and no tests, just write in the blog every class and do 3 stories. she is awesome prof.

she is so flexible, so you don't need to worry about a specific date to finish the assignments, she cares about her students, and she doesn't give detailed guidelines to follow for the assignments, so you can do it however you think it is right. i highly recommend to take a class with her.

Anelia knows what she is doing and makes her class relevant to current issues. She cares deeply about her students and their progress. The only bad part about her courses is that a lot of public relations students are required to take them, so you have to put up with some whining/uninterested/gossipy classmates.

From an active student's perspective, Anelia was a good teacher. Her class was a little unstructured: attendance not taken, assignments and due dates negotiated, and class discussion changing with current events. She offered many chances to get real world experience. I recommend her if you're willing to participate outside of class.

She is crazy. Talks about her editor job way too much. Shows slideshows of random pictures she takes that has nothing to do with class. It really is unfortunate multiple classes of hers are mandatory for Public Relations majors.

I think Anelia gets a really bad rap. If you like structure, you wont like her class. Anelia encourages participation and thought. You have to be prepared to negotiate with her on workloads, tests, etc. Everything is negotiable and she is reasonable. Most students just aren't used to taking an active role. Shes very accommodating if you ask.

HORRIBLE PROFESSOR. First of all, she should not be the one teaching ethics because she knows NOTHING about them. Second of all, I learned nothing in this class. If you want to take a class where you discuss controversial issues and she always gives her biased opinion, then take this class. Otherwise, try to stay far far away.

I went into this class after hearing how horrible she was but tried to keep an open mind. Law and journalism are my two favorite things but she hasn't taught me anything. People fail to recognize that she has a very limited perspective. Knowing I will have to take more of her classes makes me want to drop my journalism minor.
