Comment:
Dr. Lozano-Alonso's class was pretty easy. If you participate consistently and study at least a little bit for her tests, you should do fine. She is a fairly harsh grader for oral exams and has very specific requirements for them, so make sure you practice for those. Her class is a lot of talking, but she doesn't judge you if you mess up!

Dr. Lozano-Alonso is great! You have to do the reading, and there is a lot of it, but she is so smart and passionate about what she teaches. She is also one of the most caring and understanding professors I have ever had. She won't force you to talk in class - but her classes are discussion-based so you have to talk to pass.

She is very sweet, but students have to learn everything on their own through activities online (v time consuming), and class was just group discussion/activities. It was difficult for me because her teaching style did not cater to my learning style. Participate, if you need help reach out and she will work with you. Do NOT get behind on homework!

She's a really sweet woman and helpful, but her class doesn't make sense. She doesn't really teach you material she just wants participation in class. The only reason I did decent in the class was because I had taken 115 so most was review until the end. At the end, everyone was lost and frustrated because the new material was not taught.

She is not to hard, especially if you put in consistent work. Her classes are fun and group orientated with fun participation. She is also a fair grader. But, you have to pretty much teach yourself everything from the book (which is not the hardest material) She also requires a lot of homework every class thats just busy work.

I took Spanish 201 as a freshman and felt overwhelmed rather quickly. If you do your homework (there's a fair amount), study a little, and work with her, she'll be an immense help. She's very kind and understanding to her students and it makes her easy to approach. I'd recommend it, but only if you're pretty confident of your Spanish skills.

This class is not very difficult and I don't think I gained much from it. Content was similar to SPN120 such that the material was often redundant. Classwork primarily involves conversation with the professor and conversation with an assigned peer, but neither really help to further your understanding of the language.

Very easy class. Tests do not cover vocabulary, just grammar, literature, and cortometrajes. No listening or speaking sections of any exam. Very nice and helpful.

A lot of material, the book is your life and you will get through most of it if not all. Online homework was fun and easy. Book work is important, come prepared. Participate! Don't just get by in here, try hard to really know the language and you'll do well. Do independent studying to stay ahead. Nice prof, but expect to do independent work.

Loved her. Learned so much in my first semester, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Good use of multimedia internet sources. Come to class and participate and with moderate effort outside of class you can get a good grade. Very kind and encouraging.

DIFFICULT. I heard good things about her, so I took her class. We were the only class to cover and be tested on the ENTIRE book.... as well as being tested on presentations in class. She is nice, but not approachable and pretty distant. I'd go for Kearns or Cherry if you want a good grade.

not as bad as people say she is. tests were moderately hard, but she gives so much partial credit. she's so sweet and smiley. no reason to be afraid of taking her class--you're not going to get an easy 201 professor!

ive heard people call her 'the killer'. after sitting through her spanish 25 class i now know why-she killed my dream of being a spanish major. we didnt use a text, she was mean when we asked questions, was unclear, and made the class more difficult than necessary. a sorry excuse for a professor. avoid her like the plague.

She is a nice person, but she is very unclear. I had to teach myself each night because I couldnt follow her lectures. Her quizzes and tests are challenging but the class isnt impossible. If you are shy-- dont take this class... you have to present for the class A LOT and haev partner games A LOT

Very nice professor, and class wasn't bad...lots of group/partner activities, and she collects the homework randomly, but checks for effort, not accuracy. Tests can be tough, and she can be a bit vague, but not a terribly difficult class.

Treats you like you are in middle school. Takes attendance every day and "randomly" collects the homework. AVOID for Spanish 21!
