I had no problem with her. The course is a lot of reading but if you are interested in the concept, it's a pretty easy course. Quizzes are short and to the point, I got a B on every quiz.

So there is no textbook, but there is online reading. There is a lot of reading. She uses words that really are not necessary. She can sometimes make you feel like a little child. I would not take another class by her.

Dr. Reyes is extremely condescending and is very rude when you ask for clarification in her class (especially about her assignments). She will tell you over and over again to refer to the syllabus as if you haven't already consulted it before asking her a question. Do not take this class.

Hoped for radical and progressive engagement with critical race theory. But Prof. was more interested in discussing writersactors of her fav. poemsplays than discussing readings. She is incredibly condescending and petty in class, but oddly enough, very patient and kind when you get her one-on-one. Overall, class was a huge disappointment.

Reyes is really intelligent, yes. She really does want her students to strive, but I believe she is a bit pretentious and closed minded to other interpretations. She is easily confused but another opinion contradicting her own. Overall, if you do the work, communicate with her, and have a grasp on what you're trying to say, it will be an easy class

Absolutely fabulous professor. She knows her stuff. You have to work hard and you will learn a lot. That is the point of an education. If you want to listen to a lecture and have someone tell you everything, then this is not the class for you. It is about learning in the socratic method. She is just brilliant.

Ok, so I think she is obviously intelligent. A really nice lady outside of class. However, the class was structured weak, and she was completely unorganized. It seems like grades are given arbitrarily. On our midterm, she gave us one set of instructions and then graded on a completely different set of standards.

Her teaching methods are almost laughable in that they are so unhelpful and even discouraging to students. She is uncomfortably confrontational with students, but not in a way that encourages one to challenge ideas, instead it seems inappropriate and humiliating. She seems very intelligent but you will not learn a thing in her vague lectures.

Reyes really knows her stuff. This is one of the best teachers that I've had for a graduate seminar. Reyes lets students present their own ideas and research on different topics. She's a perfectionist and expects students to be also. I would take another course with her. She respects students and encourages different approaches and research.

Class was Toni Morrison seminar. What an oustanding class! She brought in so much extra material that enhanced learning. She clearly knew her stuff and was ready to challenge graduate students to learn more. I would definitely recommend her.
