Most of the other reviews covered the gist of it. She is beyond incompetent when it comes to lesson plans and homework assignments. I never knew what was due when and we would go over material that we were to be tested on in the last 10 minutes of the class before the test. I think I got worse at spanish

There are too many great professors at Colgate to waste your time in this class. The books are great, but Professor Johnson goes very off topic and often forgets what she has and has not taught yet.She is disorganized which makes the class confusing, and will often assign something and then forget about it. She does not make clear her expectations.

Very nice, but goes off topic easily and doesn't cover all the material. Don't buy all of the books until the time is getting close to reading them. She is willing to help outside of class and her exams and fairly straightforward.

Johnson is probably one of the nicest professors here. Be ready to speak Spanish in class on the spot. She'll call you out. Lots of brownies and laughs in class so I enjoyed it, but in reflection I realize that I didn't learn much. Oh and the text book was something like $210, but she did have the whole class over her house for a catered dinner!

You'll spend so much time reviewing the same things over and over again. She assigns group projects 2 days before they're due and she is constantly making mistakes and correcting herself in class. On the bright side, her tests are super easy and they usually end up being take-home because she doesnt finish the material in class.

Easily the worst professor I have ever had; we spent almost half the course on the Odyssey when other classes covered it in a few classes. Complete incompetent, has no idea what she is teaching, and cannot hold a thought for more than a few seconds. She spends more time telling her life story and cracking horrible jokes than teaching. Stay away.

This was the least organized class I've ever taken. Professor Johnson is a very kind woman, and the class discussions held my attention, but you never knew her expectations. We did 1.5 of the 3 essays that were supposed to be assigned, and got our first grade at Thanksgiving. I wasted hours on non-graded assignments. Tests weren't difficult.

Not a bad spanish teacher, likes to joke with the class a lot, and waste time telling stories or letting us tell stories about anything, as long as it's in Spanish. I feel like the class is often just hanging out and chatting. Also very ...theatrical. Likes to makes you "perform" in front of class.

What to say first. She is horrible. She only calls on the kids who name she knows. She has a fake boston accent and cannot pronounce the characters correctly. Class is a summary of the reading. Takes months to hand back papers and has no logic in grading. I quote, "No sure I understand your paper" B+. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

In terms of a spanish teacher, i think she is great. she is lively and fun, and she makes class interesting. her analysis of the literature is somewhat simple, but the class is easy. she was my favorite teacher this semester. Not a lot of work either.

Prof. Johnson is a very nice woman. Sadly, she is a very incompetent teacher. She teaches completely erroneous "facts," and if a student points out the actual fact she was aiming for, she either doesn't understand what the student says or claims that it was the same as the point that she had made.

prof johnson is the most ridiculous professor i've had. she does not show up fo class half the time, and expects us to have assignments that she'd forgotten to give us. She is a language teacher(spanish), but as a native english speaker, she will say things like "the most goodest, the virtuest", an

If you enjoy Western Traditions being taught like a Freshman English class (and by Freshman, I mean high school), this is the teacher for you. If you are at Colgate, you won't like this, and should look elsewhere for a teacher who actually knows the material.

A Spanish teacher teaching a Western Traditions course. If you have little background in the Classics you can learn them with her.

Anita is rediculous. She is very opinionated and thinks she knows everything, yet she is just a dirty hippy who uses her husband for leverage. Don't take any classes from her. She is not suited for teaching...maybe social work???

The worst teacher I have ever had. The only reason she is here is because her husband is head of the classics dept. She knows nothing about what she's talking about, yet acts like she does. She is easily flustered, and SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING COLLEGE!!!

The material is really difficult and she is not the best at explaining it. Sometimes repetative as she is all over the place. She is nice and an easy grader if she likes you.
