Comment:

I would disagree with most of the ratings. Novak's classes were too rehearsed he shows exactly the same info from year to year but the information was good. Tests were unpredictable and content not weighted the same as in-class coverage, so you need to review everything to get a good grade.

Strangely obsessed with bugs, mainly because those are the only living organisms on this planet willing to deal with his incompetent insanity. He is vague about projects, telling you there is no right or wrong way, but when it comes down to it, it is his way or you fail. Same with his tests. He pulls info out of his ass like he wants you to fail.

John Novak is scary. Not only is he ambiguous in everything he does, but he also has a scary ladybug wart on his forehead that I was sure would jump out onto me the whole semester. There is no way you can get an A in his class unless u are a freaky bug lover. If you ever get stuck in his FSEM, get out immediately even if it means changing schools.

Novak is quite possibly the worst professor I have ever had the misfortune to be taught by. He is vague, egocentric, and unclear. His tests come out of no where, he grades like an incompetant child throwing a temper tantrum, and overall I'm so mad I got stuck with such a horrible fsem professor. Don't ever take a class with him EVER!

This man is of no help. he is my advisor and doesnt do anything to help. he gave me a planning sheet to fill out without any help or guidance. his tests are rediculous, he didnt teach anything a gave us a mid-term. DO NOT TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES YOU WILL REGRET IT!

I liked him!! His classes were very easy - there wasn't a ton of assigments, not a ton of reading, a couple of tests, no pop quizzes or unexpected work and he was very clear about the breakdown of grades!! One thing was that his tests were a little random but if you took good notes and studied the tests were fine!

Mr. Novak has no interest whatsoever in the success of his students. He is both verbally abusive and unethical. He is disparaging towards his student's abilities and repeatedly insults their intelligence. DO NOT take a class with Mr. Novak regardless of how interested you may be in the subject. I promise you that if you do, you will regret it.

The worst experience with a techer. I would not recommend this teacher for any subject. He doesnt care about youre grades or education. His only concern is his bugs and theyre magnificent mouth parts. Get of his class while you still can...

Without a doubt the worst teacher I have ever had. I along with a number of other students in my class attempted to have him fired. Unfortunately because he was tenured we were unsuccessful. At the end of the class we determined that his grading system consisted of everyones name on a small sheet of paper which he threw off the top of his stairs. Each step was a different grade. Thus he was able to give a range of grades without much thought

Mr. Novak has demonstrated a marked lack of respect for students. In interactions with him outside of class, such as office hours, he never indicated a genuine concern for the sucess of his students. If you take his class, be aware that his ego will likely compormise the quality of the education you recieve.
