Professor Turpin is always unclear. I would have meetings with her and she would tell me my papers were perfect. Id always ask if i could do anything more for an A. She would say no. Id get the paper back, and it would be a C+ and her corrections would contradict. She really loves teaching and being a grandma. The quizzes are based off of the books

Dr. Turpin is honestly the best educator i've ever had. She's the sweetest person on campus and a wonderful advisor. She'll go out of her way to help you with anything, even if it's personal. She's very organized and clear with lectures. She makes her 8:30 classes worth getting out of bed for and makes me excited to learn. I highly recommend her!

She's so sweet and really knows what she's talking about. She is extremely organized and you always know what you have to do for her class. Tests can be hard and they are a huge percentage of your grade but as long as you keep up with response writings and quizzes you'll do fine. Highly recommend taking her!

I don't know how anyone could say something negative about this woman. She truly is a sweetheart and the BEST! She is the reason why I became a COMM major. She is so charismatic and her class is pretty easy if you just read for her daily quizzes (honestly, you could just skim the chapter). I love her so much that I have taken 2 classes with her!

Took her cinema/literature may term class. Nice class format and good teacher. Reading quizzes...yes. The only people who complain about those are philistines who never absorb any books in their academic career. Grow up, read the book, get the A/B+ and your good.

As my advisor, she has always kept me interested in staying on track in my classes. She's dealt with me picking up and dropping my minor several times now, and yet, is still willing to work with me to set classes for the semester over and over again. I'm hoping to land in her Seminar class next fall!!

I would not recommend taking her class at 8:30. Our topic was censorship in the media, interesting topic but lecture was not always interesting. Daily reading quizzes do happen so reading is required. I won't be taking any other classes of hers only because I am not an english major.

She was so unclear about everything that came out of her mouth. Her tests were really hard and half the things that were on it she never discussed. There is a lot of reading and you have to take a quiz everyday! Don't take this class.

I took her in summer school and she was so awesome. She is so interesting and very helpful outside of class. I would highly recommend taking her for Senior Symposium. She is hard but you will definitely learn a lot.

Although I never had Dr. Turpin as a prof., I know her pretty well, and she is AWESOME. She's always willing to help, and works nonstop to ensure the welfare of her students and the other professors in the department. Highly recommended!
