Comment:

I took the WSI course where we had to get Red Cross certified along with teaching swim classes to young children. We learned absolutely nothing during class and taught the classes without any knowledge on how to for 2 hours and 15 minutes of this 2 and a half hour long class with no time for ourselves to learn what was needed. Would not recommend.

Be prepare to go for walks without notice. she is very rude and sarcastic with people. Her final exam study guide was 4 pages of stuff we never even talked about during the semester, her attendance policy is so tough. She really tries to make the class harder than it should be. Do not take any classes with her!!

Very difficult grader. Your two absences she allows includes doctors notes and sickness so I had to make up two absences even when I came limping in with a doctor's note which my major and all other professors accepted. Tough, lots of work, but she clearly cares.

I had an off-campus course that turned out pretty well. Don't be a college Student and then act like you're five because then she will treat you like that. She's a really old lady but physically fit for her age. You will be fine once you show up and don't complain about everything. It is still a class.

She is tough, but passionate about what she does. I am saddened by the bad reviews, if you're a whiner and can't handle constructive criticism don't take her class. We aren't in pre-school anymore and she won't hold your hand. Do your work, and she is awesome. College isn't supposed to be hand holding where professors hand out A's, you earn it.

I cannot stand all these hateful reviews about Ann. She is just a Prof. who takes he courses VERY seriously. Yes, you have to work for the grade. Yes the packet is confusing. But if you WORK FOR IT and listened to everything she said, and she was ALWAYS THERE to help me and answered all my emails. Don't take her if you think it's an easy A!

She literally would not teach us anything. She was supposed to be teaching us how to do stuff like balancing and makeup, and she would just lecture us on it and then never teach us any practical skills. She's also ridiculously judgmental about peoples weight, and never actually answers questions. She was also insanely rude at times. s

Wellness was ok but she had really long, boring power points. She was nice but I was surprised with my final grade after I made improvements in all areas of my "portfolio" which was rather disappointing. I'm just assuming she doesn't give an A too easy. The class isn't hard, just be prepared to spend a lot of time on the work outside of class.

I took International Wellness with Dr. Neilson and I definitely do not recommend her class. She does not give specific instructions, is all over the place with what she wants, and then blames the students for not stepping up. Fulfill your PE requirement some other way, not with her. You will NOT get an A in her class, she never gives 100's.

Okay, if you're taking a course with Ann, DO NOT be scared. She's actually very sweet. She comes off a little sarcastic but if you're nice to her, she's nice to you too. She's actually one of my favorite teachers. She is not as bad as everyone makes her out to be. Try to stick to a smaller gym class. It makes it easier to get to know her.

She is a HORRIBLE teacher. I have taken a class with her before and decided to try to give her another chance and she FAILED miserably.She is not clear with her directions and gives the most unrelated assignments. I did not do one assignment that was 5% of my grade and did great in every other part and got a B-. You tell me how that is possible!

She threatened to lower my grade because my blood pressure went up even when I had a doctors note that said it did not and her 10 year old machines were incorrect. Avoid taking her at all costs. She made us drive to Lake George then cancelled the trip after we got there.

After reading Ann's reviews I was dreading this class, but she is honestly one of the nicest professors I've ever had! She's been teaching for a very long time so she's less flexible than some of the newer professors, but she is very caring and fair. Definitely one of my favorite prof's at St. Rose, I don't understand all the negative reviews!

Obsessed with the portfolio and no matter what one you have you do everything that is in the green one. She is hard to understand, not an easy teacher, and hard to get a hold of. Treats you like you're a child. Don't take a class with her unless you have no choice. Suck up to her as much as possible if you take her class.

Dr. Neilson is straight up crazy. If you are a feminist, do NOT take Wellness For Women. She tries to shove these ideas of 50's womanhood down your throat. The portfolio (which you have to do for every gym class) is ridiculous. 6 words for you...."Are you with me on this?"
