This class was amazing and inspiring! Dr. Joy was always enthusiatic about the subject matter and fostered student discussion during the classes. The final project was super fun and she was always available to meet if you had concerns. I read many of the previous comments and I find them unfair and unrepresentative. I highly recommend this teacher!

75% of the grade; totally abstract. No idea how she calculated it, left in the dark until mark pops up on portal. Nice lady, but disgustingly unorganized and unhelpful with pretty much everything. Didn't get awful mark, but the amount I worked for this class is worth A+++ and is mostly because it was hard working around her bad instructions! AVOID!

let me put it this way, i'm generally an A student, and i got a B in her class. i never complain too much about teachers but i have to admit that she's unclear, totally vague about assignments, very unhelpful, etc. not recommended if you care at all about grades.

She said it was her first summer,and maybe that's why she was so nice.She didn't really read slides,her lectures were pretty good and interesting actually.She's a tough market though.Assignments were somewhat surprising and very vague.Overall, she was quite ok.

Horrible horrible horrible. Do NOT take her. She thinks she knows everything and you cannot, under any circumstances, disagree with anything she says. She made us watch a video that she marginally participated in and made us watch 5 minutes of credits at the end just so we could see her name!

The worst teacher ever at Concordia University. DO NOT be fooled. You will have to work your ass off to get a decent grade and never end up retaining anything because of her poor teaching skills. HORRIBLE! I never post in here, but I had to so I can try to save a few from her wrath!

She is the worst teacher I've ever had. She is controlling and over 50% of the grade is subjective. Basically, kiss ass or fail. Also, she demands a 35 page individual paper on a topic chosen by her on which she is an expert. In essence, do not under any circumstances take this course with her.

She is horrible. AT first she smiles a lot so you think she's nice and understanding. But in fact, its the complete opposite. She'll get very irritated if you don't think exactly like her. Very, very deceiving. Avoid her at all costs

shoot me!!as previously mentioned, she never ans.emails..her exams were so unfair, her multiple choice was just an easy and lazy way to correct exams.and at this age, we know how to read, we dont need a prof to read us slides, thanks but no thanks!

Prof. Joy was a pleasure to have as a teacher, when she was there. She often left her grad students to teach which were absolutely horrible. I would recommend to a friend to take her because her assignments are interesting and the class is intriguing.
