Buy the handout!!!!!!!!!! For ECN 201 you can write notes till your hands fall off and can use them on exam 1,2,3 and the final. The printed out version of his text is optional because he posts everything you need online. Go to class for key things he says because his lectures are the tests. You have to work for it but he makes you want to care.

Professor Mead is very big on thinking critically so you will learn how to in the course. Have three tests and if you get a B- or higher on all three you get out of the final. Have online quizzes basically on each unit, work with a group and you should be fine. Also have 7 assignments to do throughout the semester. I recommend taking this class!!!

Had him both semesters and was a struggle. Have to pay attention in class and listen. Print out review problems and put them in handout. Nice guy but tough material. It is not just information you can memorize it's all critical thinking. I got tutored weekly and went to review sessions before exams. Overall lots of effort and not an easy A.

Macroeconomics with Mead is the first relatively difficult class you will take at URI, that said, it is amazing preparation for upper level courses. He doesn't make you buy an expensive book, just the cheap paper book he wrote himself. He can be intimidating in class, but he's a great guy to speak with during office hours. One of the best at URI.

Art is one of the most confusing human beings i've ever listened to in my life. He tends to talk to the class as if they've all studied econ for 50+ years like him. I always had a hard time understanding what he was talking about although he wants students to do well. Sends TONs of emails, but helpful. Go to review sessions, take good notes.

Mead is a great guy. Buy the handout and you really don't need to take many notes. The quizzes are online and are usually done with friends. Six assignments that are horribly easy. Three exams that focus more on common sense than economics. I'd recommend befriending a TA because they're the easiest and most knowledgable resource.

Comes across as intimidating in class, but is nice and helpful if you go to him outside of class. Make sure to read the readings and take good notes in handout because the handout can be used during tests. Go to review sessions before tests/quizzes. Is a tough class but teaches important critical thinking skills, looking back it was worth taking.

If you put in the work in his class its not challenging at all. Has plenty of office hours and study sessions that I highly recommend attending. Exams are very straight forward and everything you would expect to be on them.

Not an easy A... not an easy D either. You REALLY have to be on his mental level to pass that class, and if you're not exactly like him you will have a hard time learning. Just remember Lunch Isn't Free

The worst teacher I have ever had. When he is not wasting time complaining about Trump he is being very rude to students. I took this class seeing if I wanted to be an ECN major and he made it a hard no. Take any other teacher than him unless you wanna have a terrible time.

Mead is crazy. He loves to call out people and then make fun of them for the rest of class. He has a weird thing for red heads and will literally use red headed people for every example. His exams are rough and his book is the most boring thing ever. Only good thing is that the exams are open note, otherwise I would have come out with an F

He'll call you out and purposely make you look like an idiot in front of everyone. I got an A in the course, but no thanks to him. He talked more about his own political beliefs and current events than about topics that were on the exam. Also, BUY HIS STUPID HANDOUT BOOK THING. And do the readings before each quiz.

I took Prof Mead's online class thinking it would be easier than the real lecture, it wasn't. Definitely the hardest course I've ever taken and it was very confusing to learn on my own. Went to him for help once and he was helpful but the subject in general is confusing. Get ready to put in a lot of hours for this class if you want a good grade.

Challenges you as a student and really makes you work hard for good grades especially on the quizzes. Most of the class is just common sense. Will teach you a lot and is surprisingly helpful. Class may seem hard at times but is completely worth it. Would highly recommend both Mead and the class.

If you want to actually learn something in college, take Art Mead for economics. He knows his stuff. He can be a little tough at times, but he appreciates when students show effort, and tends to boost grades if you show up for his office hours. Overall a great professor if you want to get the most for your money here at URI.

Very unclear, extremely long readings each week, quizzes are almost irrelevant to the readings, and discussions seem pointless. I currently have a 3.7gpa, but thats down the gutter because of this class. DONT take it.

After the first class I wanted to drop out. However stick with it because you'll end up loving his class. He made the subject interesting by applying real world examples all the time. Considered switching my major that's how interesting he made it. Has a good sense of humor and his exam questions could trip you up but he's always available to help.
