She has high expectations, but I adored her. The class can be a bit challenging. There are weekly compositions (1 page) and a final project. She will be teaching 300 level literature classes next year (her last!) and I really recommend them. That's her passion, so I'm sure the classes will be amazing. She's a great teacher and an interesting person

Dr. Callahan is obviously very passionate about the language and French culture. I found her class very interesting and she was an amiable and helpful teacher. I think she has higher standards for her students than most are interested in living up to, however.

You cannot appreciate what you learn in this class until it's over. Went to France the next semester and I cannot TELL you how much I appreciated her class. You'll learn so much about everything from Romantic Poetry to French Politics and your language skills will improve immensely.

Take the class-it may seem chaotic, but it all works out in the end. If you talk to her outside of class she likes it. I learned a lot.

For the most part, Dr. Callahan's class is a solid introduction to a smattering of French topics: history, culture, etc. She's not a bad grader, but sometimes does seem easily annoyed by students.

This class had a lot of reading, but it was really interesting. Really changes your view of the world. Dr. Challahan is pretty opinionated, but its a good feminist voice to hear. Really makes you think.
