She's the best Math teacher I've ever had. She makes Calculus simple to understand and cares a lot about her students. She's got a heart of gold and can't recommend her enough, if you have to take Calculus at DeSales, you need to take Professor Houck.

Professor Houck is a great professor for calculus and is good at breaking things down so they make sense. Gives a lot of homework, but is very accessible outside of class. Gives review sheets before every exam, she sets you up to do well. Would definitely recommend to anyone

She is by far the best math teacher I've ever had! She should teach more math classes at DeSales. She does reviews before every exam and you can get points added to your exam grade if you do good. She is heavy on homework (20 in a semester) but they are short and strengthen your understanding of the material (unlike other copy-paste homework).

Dr. Hock explains the topics in calculus so that everyone can understand the topics. She gives homework after every lecture, but it is helpful. She grades it based on completeness and effort. The homework is very helpful in learning the material and preparing for tests. She makes the lectures interesting and does in class activities/reviews.

Mrs. Houck is the best math teacher I have ever had hands down. She teaches math in a way that everyone can understand and even though she works fast, she really makes you understand what you are learning. I am taking her course next semester and would recommend her to any student wanting to learn calculus.

She is a fantastic professor. Anyone who does poorly in this class just isn't willing to put in the timeeffort required or skips class a lot. Her lectures are short and to the point, and she usually assigns homework after every topic learned. Always willing to help. She tells you exactly what will be on the test and gives bonus points. Easy A.

Professor Houck is the single greatest thing to happen to me at DeSales. I nearly failed PRE-CALC in high school, and now have an A in college level Calc II. Her notes are clear, she goes over all the types of problems you'll see on the exams, she grades homework, gives extra points and reviews before exams. She is such a great teacher

Amazing teacher! She's so sweet and friendly and has a great personality! She is very clear and thorough with her explanations. Plus, she reviews before every exam which makes the exam so much easier. I've already taken Calc in high school, but this is still a great course whether you're new to Calculus or not.

Definitely my favorite teacher at DeSales. Knows her math, and can explain it in normal English. She could teach Calculus to a monkey. Tests are hard, but she usually gives study guides the class before. Grades all homework and gives it back with corrections before test. Very flexible, very nice. Overall an amazing teacher. I have taken MA 223/4

Her tests always took longer then expected, meaning that they required more then one class time. Very concered about students and making sure that they understand and willing to give any extra help any time. Difficult but makes it possible to learn the math!

Mrs. Houck is one of the best math teachers I know. There are only a select few that can really explain mathematics and actually make it understandable. Although her tests were difficult, I learned so much from her!! Thank you MRS HOUCK!!!!!!
