Comment:

Prof. Plunkett's class was pretty heavy on the reading and writing, but she had us reading out of classic books instead of a textbook, which I liked better. There are a lot of papers, but most are really just about your opinion, so they're not too difficult. If you need to take a history class, this is a good one to take.

Ann Marie is a timely communicator, polite, cares about her students, and gives very good feedback. Her lectures are dry, and at times it is a challenge to sit through them without dozing off, but she is such a lovely human, all is forgiven.

Great professor. I learned a lot in the class. Be prepared to spends lots of time on reading and writing outside of class. She gives essay tests, but they're really easy if you pay attention in class and show what you learned. She's a very fair grader, so as long as you're diligent, you'll get a good grade in the class.

She was awesome! I loved her essay format tests. Instead of having to focus on remembering a bunch of information, I could focus on enjoying learning about western civ, and discuss it in class. For the essay questions I wrote about my perspective on what we learned. She was just looking for participation, reading the materials and interest.

Terribly terrible dull class. Unfriendly demeanor towards students. Although she seems very knowledgable about the subject she conveys little or no interest in what she is talking about. Overall, I would absolutely not reccommend her class to anyone. Uses required books as a veritable crutch.

Professor Plunkett is a wonderful teacher! I loved her class and the stories that we read. She was always fair in her grading and never made any student feel bad about their ideas during open discussion. If you need to take a Western Civ course take hers! You will enjoy it!
