I took his class over the minimester. We were only there for two hours each day, he would critique really fast and then give us the next project, then we could go. He has a funny sense of humor, but will tell you how it is. As long as you put moderate effort into the class and don't just sit around, you should get an A.

explanations of assignments very "loose". out more than in class- students left to figure out what is expected while he is not there.

Very knowledgeable in field. If you work hard and talk to him a little bit, he is there to help you. If you read other people's comments that are negative, it is probably because he verbalizes his thoughts in a way most of us are not used to ( He is English!) He doesn't put up with B.S. art or effort, so what he says to do is prob. a good idea.

Grad student looking to take an elective in illustration. Was a studio art major in undergrad. Have 18 credits of drawing to my name, both grad and undergrad. His illustration course was not in the same mindset of the fine arts. Not helpful in teaching HOW to illustrate. Just gave suggestions on what to change. I dropped out.

I am a grad. from '95 and all can say is any student can benefit from his instruction if they understand his way of teaching - AND understanding British wit - otherwise you will be offended - the man is talented - just teaches in a different way from average Yanks! Toughen up weaklings and learn- Chris is a taste of the Real World - not all peaches

This guy suks.....if you need help in the class you will get the worst explanation on what needs to be done. He enjoys being in the classroom less than any of the students...However his grading is about as leaniant as his will to teach anything...so if you get the work done then its an easy class.

Poxy English ****. Still using the same syllabus for the past 20/25 years. Ideas are antiquated as are his teaching methods. Too bad he has tenure. The school could use creative Illustrators who actually STILL work on their art.

mr. james bond of the art department...chris is knowledgeable of the illustration field and gives good ideas, which sometimes conflicted with my own ideas. listen and compromise and it should be no problem getting an A.

I graduated 5 years ago. The class wasn't bad but the teacher was. I am now a teacher myself and would never be as rude to my students as he was to us. He was the only class in design that I got a B (not for lack of trying) get over yourself!!!

relatively easy. 3-D exhibition model making is very time consuming. It's an easy (relaxing) class.
