Comment:

Osborne is a very nice lady but one of the worst professors that I've ever taken in my life. If you want to actually learn something, don't take her. Her assignments are unclear, she's not organized and her lectures are boring. However, if you do the readings, write well, and participate then it's a pretty easy a. Warning: there's A LOT of reading.

This was quite literally the worst class I have ever taken. She gives no homework and no grades until the last 4 class days where you have a final paper, presentation, and everything else under the sun. I fall asleep everyday, and somehow always wake up to her being off topic. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH OSBORNE.

Assigned a final with two take home essays along with a book review all in the final week of class. The amount of work given in her one class was equivalent to the amount of work i had received if i summed up all my other classes. Prepare to read a book the larges being about 310 pages almost every week with little time to do so.

Watch out, she makes it seems as if she is nice, but behind the exterior is an unkind person. You have to be perfect. No chance of making mistakes. Judges you before she knows you, using accusations. Makes you feel as if she has no faults and you are dirt. Glad that I left this class, otherwise I would be in deep depression.

She's really nice and easy, but suuuuuper boring. Lives off of power point presentations and lectures. you have to write a couple of papers, but as long as you put a bunch of quotes and stuff, you're good. she's an easy grader. she's just boring.

She can be pretty unclear with assignment expectations, but one thing is clear with Osborne. DEADLINES DO NOT EXIST TO THIS WOMAN. I handed in a semester's amount of work the last day of class and still walked out with a decent grade. The class is what you make of it. She's pretty chill outside of class so make sure to stop in at office hours.

After receiving all A's in this class (including a very high grade on the final) and one B+ on a paper that she decided to assign last minute, I am convinced that Dr. Osborne refuses to give A's in her class. She is a GPA killer. Avoid if possible.

At first I really wasn't fond of her, I was bored in her class and uninterested. Over time, I really grew to like her. She really does want to help her students out, as long as you show interest in the course material she'll work with you to help you get a decent grade. She has a really great heart and she warms up to you over time.

DON'T TAKE HISTORIOGRAPHY WITH OSBORNE!!!! Avoid it and take it with Hunter if you can. There is a TON of reading and only about 1/3rd of it is any interesting. There are only about 3 assignments, and the directions she gives for them are not very clear and ask a lot from you.

Imagine this; watching paint dry, water boil, your hair grow, all of these things i would MUCH RATHER do than listen to this woman talk for an hour and a half. Honestly the most boring person i have ever encountered in my life. The consensus is DO ANYTHING YOU CAN NOT TO GET HER AS A TEACHER....shes a very nice lady though.

An hour and a half in that woman's class feels like a life time. She's the most boring professor ever and gives hour long lectures about nothing, followed by confusing unanswerable questions. She always brings up China, which had nothing to do with the class. The whole class was pointless and a waste of time. Try not to ever take her!

BORING. Uninformative. Unclear about assignments at times. Keeps you til the end almost always. So depressing that she's the dept. chair :-( shes a great adviser for freshmen looking here, but never answers emails so dont even bother. more likely to get her if you call her office

Dr. Osborne herself is really sweet and very knowledgeable, but it was really hard to stay awake during her lectures. She doesn't have the class get involved at all. She loves China, so be prepared to hear all about it. Essays were kinda tough, and you have to study for the tests if you want to pass. If you're struggling, she at least tries to help
