Mme. Scott is a great French prof. Tough grader who really wants her students to have a solid understanding of the material - literally. Because we were reading stories in French, one needed to have an extensive French vocabulary and excellent grammar. She was very helpful and had for us a Quizlet set with all the vocab we needed.

I took 3 courses with her during my first and second year, and I just adore her! She cares so much about her students and tries to make the difficult concepts in 222/342 as clear as possible. She even lets you work for extra credit! She may be a tough marker but gives excellent feedback.

Professor Scott is a kind, compassionate woman who genuinely cares about her students. As for the class, there's a lot of work and memorization but the class average was in the 70s which is quite high for an average. If you don't slack off you shouldn't have a problem getting an 80+.

Madame Scott is an amazing lady who genuinely cares about her students. Her speaking is very clear so that's great for a beginner's course. She marks fairly and is available for help at her office or the end of class if you need her. She's also very kind and cheerful. Definitely a great choice if you are wondering whether to pick her or not.

Very sweet, genuine, and helpful professor. Definitely one of the best at UBC. It is evident in her lectures and office hours that she wants you to succeed, and she will devote as much time as possible in helping you get there. Her class isn't easy, but is very fair in their evaluation.

Very sweet, fair, and helpful prof. However, the course is not a GPA booster unless you spend all your time on it. It is taught in French but that should not be a problem if you had a good high school education. Don't expect to improve your oral skills in this class, it is all reading and writing based. Your writing will improve though!

The most impassioned French teacher I've ever had. Warm and welcoming, explains very clearly. Literary analysis reaches same depth as middle school English. Marks you very hard on grammar/spelling for submitted assignments, understandably though. Unless you're fairly good, FREN 122 isn't a GPA booster- it's taught mostly in French, so be prepared.

Genuinely kind and caring old lady that is very jolly and passionate in her lectures. Very willing to spend extra time outside of class to help you with any problems you are having in the course. Overall marking is somewhat strict, but undeniably fair. Definitely one of the best French professors.

It might be that my high school french curriculum was poor, but from someone who always got A's in french throughout high school I was surprised that Scott taught French in complete French. She is a bit fast paced and you really have to have a thorough understanding of spoken french to understand her in class. She is very passionate about teaching.

This course was a huge jump for me as she taught French in French. She's nice but also a hard marker.I got straight As in my previous French classes, the grades in this class surprised me a lot, however, not in a good way.

Even though I loathed the course/course content, I loved Anne and she made it bearable. She really tries, even outside of class, to make sure everyone understands what's going on. She's like the grandmother everyone loves! She loves to use the board a lot so be careful if you are a clear powerpoint-type learner - write stuff down!

I found Anne to be a picky marker but I guess it is to be expected for a grammar course. If you have to take Fren222, take it with her- but don't expect a high mark. The content of the course is dry and her quizzes & exams are difficult. Take the time to see her during office hours. My French sucks so her 1 on 1 (Eng) explanations helped a LOT.

One of the best profs I've ever had! She's clear, understanding, and really cares about her students! I'd recommend her for any course, she's such a sweetheart. Marks were really reasonable as well, I was never in French immersion but ended up with an A. (just make sure you go to class+participate+take notes!)
