AVOID! If you complete an assignment that you worked hard on & missed something or didn't understand the entire project she will deduct an unnecessary amount of points!She will give you every excuse to not help you and when she does give you feedback it doesn't help anyway. She makes the class complete discussion boards so she doesn't have to grade

If people were upset with her it was because they weren't meant for her class to begin with. People claim her assignments are "meaningless" but everything we have done could be used in the classroom. Dr. Slanina is a caring woman, with plenty of knowledge and a giant heart. She loves what she teaches and hopes we can be inspired to do so as well

Dr. Slanina teaches my online grad class. She is the toughest grader I have ever had, if you forget (or don't understand) one little thing she takes away tons of points. Her directions are vague, yet you suffer because of it. Everything for her class is busy work like replying to EVERYONE's discussion boards, chapter reviews, and online quizzes.

Dr. Slanina is one of the most caring professors in the Education Department. She has a wealth of knowledge and is more than willing to sit down and help you. She is easy to talk to and ready to share her experiences. ELEC 470 teaches you how to synthesize information and use it in real context- when you put in the work! I loved having Dr. Slanina!

avoid at all costs. all she does is talk about route 66. all her class consists of is projects with requirements that are 10 pages long and take weeks at a time to do. she is confusing, never answers questions. seriously the most confusing class ive ever taken. if i could go back, i would not take her for anything. seriously though avoid her!

Dr. Slanina is very nice, but can be kind of scatterbrained sometimes. This class was the best one I've had with her, but I wouldn't say it is great. There is a lot of in class group work and you do need to buy the book.

She was one of the most useless teachers I have ever had. If you are interested in hearing about her life story and the books she writes then this would be a perfect class. I did not learn a single thing from her except that she likes to talk about herself. All her test come straight from the study guide so if you want an A just study those.

Dr. Slanina's class is really not hard, if you are willing to put a little effort into it. She does assign a lot of reading in the textbook, but that"s what the book is for, right? I have taken several classes with her and I am scheduled for another one. She is very sweet and has a ton of knowledge to share with you if you let her

Even though Slanina is a difficult teacher, she means well. All of her quizzes came straight from the chapters in the book, so if you read, you'll ace them. Her assignments outside of the classroom are tedious, so schedule them ahead of time. She's really sweet and will do anything to help someone. Just don't argue with her.

For a creativity class she is the most uncreative person in the entire world. She shows useless videos that are extremely outdated and frankly wastes my time. Most of the time she isn't even in the classroom, she gives us busy work, then goes to her office. This class is a waste, take Dr.Jenny, you'll actually get something out of her class.

I expect a lot of work in education classes but only having chapter summaries is not what I call learning and is a little frustrating. I would have liked to learn more in class instead of having discussions about the summaries all of the time. An ok professor but is rather blunt at times and has her own opinion. All in all it's an ok sort of class.

Dr. Slanina is such a nice women and a wonderful teacher. The class is interesting, and so much fun! You work with the kids from the day care and it's with a group so the workload is split. Sorry people, but if you don't like to work, don't be a teacher... take Slanina, she's so nice, don't let these comments scare you!!

first, i understand that as an ed. major, you must do work. however, slanina assigns mostly busy work (ie chap reviews) that mean nothing to the class. she is one sided and doesnt care to listen to anyone elses opinions. she is unclear on expectations, however, grades very critically. needs to read an up to date educational book about INCLUSION!!
