For someone who has always struggled with physics, taking Ernests class was one of the best choices I could make. His lectures consist nearly 100% of examples that he walks you through, and his exams are clearly outlined beforehand. That being said, do the homework problems! 10/10 would recommend.

Ernest is a Intelligent professor with a passion for physics, his course is engaging, challenging and rewarding for hardworking students. However, Ernest can be deeply unsympathetic to students with disabilities or struggling with mental health issues and with small class sizes, is guilty of favouritism.

Ernest is great. Cares about the students, asks questions about our other classes etc. He is also able to derive and prove stuff on the board without notes, clearly knows his stuff. Lectures can seem pretty daunting; tests are hard but not impossible.

Very clear in presentation of material, but the course is quite tough. However, the tests are based on the assignments fairly closely, and there's not too many assignments to worry about. Tough marker on tests, you may lose marks even for inconsequential errors.

Excellent professor. Amusing lectures, bits of humor added in along with an occasional demonstration. His handout notes are very clear and helpful, but your own handwritten ones can easily be constructed. Clearly loves the topic and is very intelligent about it.

Talks to fast assuming everyone knows it all. Hardly takes a breath during class. Really boring and non understandable teacher. Could use some actual examples not just talk and talk and talk

Didn't do enough examples in class, in my opinion. Class got quite boring from time to time, but overall he taught the material well. HW questions were a good indicator of how difficult the exams were going to be.

A very consistent and organized man. Constantly found myself leaving class with good understanding, and got good help 1 on 1 if I didn't. The Asian/British accent was an amusing bonus.

Ernest is easily the clearest and most organized physics professor at TRU. If you attend class, pay attention, do the homework, and study for his class you can ace it. I've taken both upper level quantum courses with him too and no one else could have done a better job teaching them. He's very helpful and hilarious.

Worst teacher that I have ever had. He makes sure that each and every student feels ashamed of the mark they got. He takes no initiative when the class average is extremely low. Apparently its the students fault when he writes and incredibly unfair exam. He does not help you improve, he only points out that you are pathetic.

Very smart and keeps your interest with cool stories and real life applications of the material. Only thing is that the quizzes are super easy, but the tests are nothing like the quizzes. Make sure you study the textbook thoroughly before any big test.

Didn't explain the material thoroughly and made you feel bad if you didn't get a good mark. Labs and quizzes are easy but midterm and final are nothing like the practice problems so study the examples in the notes. Overall, made my interest in physics go way down. I'm not sure if it was him or just the course.
