Professor Sullivan is one of my favorite professors at Salem State. She is extremely fair and very clear about her grading criteria. She does not over burden students with "busy work". Instead, you write a lot of papers. The topics of the papers and media she has students watch is very interesting and relevant.

Dr. Sullivan is extremely particular with how she wants the work done. She is especially a stickler with citations (she even makes you cite videos!) So far since starting her online Criminology course, I have only gotten ONE A grade on an assignment. She is a very tough grader, hard to pull off anything more than B. Probably wouldn't take her again

Hands down the best professor I have ever had. She does not waste any class time with foolishness, she is passionate and clear on what she lectures. Time goes by fairly fast and it is always interesting. It is a writing intensive class, but I did not care. Assignments were not to bs on, I put many hours into my papers to get good grades.

She assumes you know how to navigate through her online class without telling you anything. And if you don't understand it she is extremely rude to you. I do not recommend taking one of her classes unless you want to be disrespected.

I've taken her multiple times. I'd rather take her online though because I get bored easily during her lectures. She's really smart and after taking many classes she isn't that tough of a grader. She expects a lot though so if you're looking to pass in half-ass papers don't take her! She definitely is NOT the worst professor in the CRJ department

Um no. She is the reason I changed my major (dropped her class). Could't learn from her. All she did was yell the WHOLE entire lecture. Pop Quizzes are HARD. No structure to her class. Don't smile in class, you will get in trouble for "interrupting" her. The book was a waste of money because she doesn't use it. VERY disappointed in the experience.

There is a reason why Dr. Sullivan teaches at Salem State University. She is very helpful and cares about her students. As in life, you must seek the help and give her the respect she deserves. She is tough, but gives you a clear understanding of what is required for her courses. If you need help in your classes she will guide you.

Dr. Sullivan is very passionate about what she teaches. She gets really into it and she's strict, but she's very understanding too. I was having trouble with some of her assignments and she did a lot to help me. Very helpful but will not appreciate slackers. No tests. Online discussions & papers. Get ready to write.

Best prof. I have ever had. I had her for Theories of Crime & Justice and her lectures were extremely interesting and I always enjoyed going to them. She assigned 5 papers all about 5 pages long, easy though. Extremely friendly person and tells you exactly what to do to get a better grade when she comments on papers. Just keep that in mind. Take!

I'm surprised at how many bad reviews there are. She's one of the best I've had. Sure, she can be a tough grader, but with her, you get what you truly earn. You absolutely need the book, but you can get away with not really completely reading it, her lectures are really informative. She's not my advisor, but helped me during registration anyway!

By far, the most impersonal professor I have ever had throughout my educational career. Horribly unapproachable and rude whenever I had a question for her, as if I was bothering her. Her class was also structured so poorly I spoke with a high ranking professor in her department who agreed and advised me to avoid her classes from now on.

I took Theories of Crime and Justice with her. I ended up with an A- in the class. If you expect to just skate by in her class you will not get a good grade. She is a tough grader on her papers and you need to use the book. Her discussions are fairly easy and we met once a week.

This teacher is very clear in class and knows her information. But when it comes down to papers she's a very hard grader, and it's really hard to do good. You do what she asks for the assignment but when she gives it back she makes comments on it about completely something different that you were supposed to do! This class will ruin your GPA

She is very nice.. but she is a very tough grader on papers, I've gotten three 80's from her and she doesn't explain what you need to do to get a better grade. She assigns you movies to watch and gives you a guide line on what to write about, but usually what she wants isn't even discussed in the movie, it doesn't make any sense. so frustrating.

I have taken this professor twice online, and did not have any outside contact with her. She grades papers hard, and the highest grade I have ever received on one was an 88. The work load is not too much, and she grades things fast. I got a B- in one class, and I think a B in the other. Not sure if she even gives As.

To be honest, Professor Sullivan is a very nice teacher, and was very respectful. But for her Community Issues of Criminal Justice Class, she completely ruined my GPA. Very tough grader on papers, she never gave me higher than a 70, yet I got an A in English. I also never missed a class, and she still gave me a D. 3.4 GPA to a 2.5, thanks...

Had her for White Collar and Community Issues. Extremely knowledgeable and experienced. Dr. Sullivan is a great teacher. She uses her own life in her lectures which is both helpful and funny at times. She really tries to help students in trouble. I was on the verge of failing and she let me pass in late work to boost my grade to a C. Recommended!!!

I took an online class with her. She is very clear and knows her stuff. Did not use the book that much. Most of the info is in the power point slides she gives you with each assignment. Has a rep for being mean. Very pleasant when I met her.
