He made class fun! I looked forward to this class every week. I will say this though theres a LOT of writing and reading required for his classes. His grading system is unique but really really great to know exactly where you stand in his class! 10/10 would recommend!

Has an amazing personality so class is never boring! You get a real sense that he cares about you and he loves when you show interest in the subject too. You learn a lot in class and most of that stuff is pretty amazing. There are weekly quizzes on the textbook chapters, but they aren't too hard. I would definitely recommend him for anthro!

Tony is a great professor. His class operates off of a point system and there is an excessive amount so there is no reason someone wouldn't get an A. Read the book and do your homework.

JUST. DO. YOUR. WORK. Honestly. He does a point system so there's practically no way to lower your grade. To get an A you need a little over 200 points and each assignment adds points to your grade. If you do all the assignments you'll have an A in no time and you won't have to take the final. He's serious about word count though. He will count.

The most interesting prof at SCCC. Prepares you for going to a four-year school. His classes, he says, are guaranteed for life. So you can contact him after you leave for whatever questions about life, love & happiness (he says). A bit unhinged -- gets wacky about wonky things.

Such a great professor. Has this awesome grading system where you earn point to get an A. There is literally no way to lose points and I ended up not having to take the final because I earned an A before the end of the semester.

I took Professor Balzano last semester. He gives great lectures and is very passionate about Anthro. However, he is a very tough grader and the tests are pretty hard. As for the quizzes, he gives us one pretty much everyday but he gives us bonus points so you can easily get over 100. Projects & Papers are a must! He also grades on a point system.

Anthony Balzano is a stupendous professor. His style of teaching is absolutely amazing. He knows how to draw you into a subject and keep you there hanging on his words. His lectures are very informative and he spent entire class periods lecturing for test and midterm/final prep. Slight vague instructions on papers, but answers questions thoroughly.

I was a huge procrastinator this semester so I didn't do as well as I had hoped, however it was obvious that Tony really loved and knew what he was talking. He uses a point based grade not percentage, so don't expect one grade to pull you through because you will have to work up to the good grade. DOES NOT RECEIVE LATE WORK AT ALL.

Nice guy, but poor teaching. Very, very tough grader! I took him for Capstone that was by far my most stressful class and it should not have been. Does NOT respond timely to emails, and he takes ions to grade papers.

VERY hard to communicate with; confusing on what he wants. If you are looking to be challenged in a manner that makes absolutely no sense, then go for it; otherwise I highly advise to choose a different professor. Also, does not respond to emails in a timely manner. Took for a mandatory 1 credit class and honestly his methods make NO SENSE!

He will give you an essay prompt then respond by saying that he doesn't want an essay, research paper, or short answer. So what do you want then? Big assignments are vague and when asked, he is almost even more confusing by not giving a definite answer.

Tony is a really great, really smart guy. He makes students want to come to class, and always makes sure we have days off here and there. You do have to be organized and you have to be prepared to work for your grade. He doesnt assign a lot of things, but what he does assign takes time and is worth quite a bit towards your overall.

I love Tony! He is awesome. I had him from 1998-2000 and I'm continuing my graduate education in Criminology now. He was such an awesome professor that I took him 4 times and majored in Sociology. I recieved my Bachelors in Sociology as well. I also love his knowledge, confidence, straight forwardness and he is pleasant to look at for his age.
