Professor Dardis ruined my motivation to pursue philosophy. If your paper doesn't agree with his ideals, you won't do well on your papers. He's not open to any other ideas that do not immediately comply with what he believes. Unfair grader, marks down papers full letter grades for small mistakes.

Truly love this professor. He is very easy going and an easy grader but he clearly knows his stuff in regard to philosophy. The class went so well that I was inspired to study philosophy along with history. Would take again and recommend to anyone. Incredibly funny and only asks for a few short papers and final project.

Literal bae, one of the best professors I have ever had and probably will ever have in Hofstra. Definitely 100% take his class if you're in honors college. Lots of fun final project options, or just 3 3-page papers. Really cares about the class and your essays. Kinda hard grader but give rewrites on ALL essays. Makes honors college bearable.

This class was a lot of reading, but was interesting. If you don't like your grade on your paper he allowed to rewrite it. So there is no reason for you to fail. I really enjoyed the class he was never late and never absent. His grading was fair so if you follow the syllabus, go to class and do the assignments you will pass the class!

HUHC is a really terrible and hard class in general with a ton of reading but he made the discussion okay. Lots of papers and stuff but he gives really good feedback and cares about his students. He's a pretty chill dude in class, lets us get off topic and stuff. Overall pretty good professor but I hated everything about the course.

I had Professor Dardis by chance for C&E and for a Philosophy of Life FYC my first semester, and he was awesome! I took him again the next semester. He really genuinely loves what he does and wants to hear students views, even if they don't agree with his. Make sure you can think abstractly though, he doesn't really do concrete concepts.

He's an okay person, but a bad teacher. The few papers he makes you do are vague prompts with no clear rubric, so no guidelines. He lets you do rewrites, but even if you correct all the things he says your grade might still be the same. I went for extra help, and he told me to look at the critiques, but all the things he had written were good???

He's a nerd. Pretty popular professor, and very willing to talk to and help students. He remembers who participates constantly, and writes pretty solid comments on essays. Essay prompts can be very vague, so don't be afraid to ask for clarification or to run a topic by him. Take him at least once for C&E if you can, it's an experience.

Only take the class if your a philosophy major and enjoy the topic if that falls under you then you'll like him if not this will probably be the most boring class you'll ever take, the only positive is he's very nice and its an easy class but it was really boring and i had no idea what he was saying

Professor Dardis is a awesome. The subject matter is dense, but he makes things very clear. He is quirky, funny and teaches a good class that involves a lot of class participation.

Took a first year connections philosophy class with him and he was pretty boring. He kinda goes in circles and doesn't come to any real conclusions. I think he wanted us to debate the arguments he put up but nobody ever really talked. It was just boring.

He's a nice guy, but he doesn't always make sense. He gives a lot of papers, so if you understand him you'll do fine, but if you don't then 4 hours of writing your paper will earn you a C. He's not boring, but expect your G.P.A to take a hit.

Awesome!! Have him for Culture and Expression right now. He is really interesting and so nice. Very easy-going. We rarely even talk about the books we have to read. The only downside is that there are a lot of papers (7 a semester), but they aren't hard at all and he grades really fairly. Definitely take him for C & E!

Honestly, I wouldn't take him unless you really like philosophy. He doesn't make a lot of sense, doesn't do a good job explaining his assignments, and doesn't really give the best feeback on papers. The bright spot is there's usually not a final, but the class is REALLY boring.

Sometimes, I felt like he had no idea what he was talking about.... and office hours sometimes didn't help at all. If you're not picky about perfection, you'll live through his class.
