Some people should never teach. I have no idea how he could possibly be the head of the Psych department. Very negative man. If you can avoid him: DO! If you have to take the class avoid asking questions because he will try to make a fool out of you. He is mean. Be prepared to be uncomfortable.

Nice guy, but socially awkward. Does a lot of awkward chuckling to himself in class when he finds something amusing, but no one else thinks it's funny. Don't bother getting the book, just rely on the powerpoints. Paying attention is brutal. Most of the questions on the tests are very specific. If he tells you a quote, remember who said it.

he is a horrible teacher. he is not at all helpful, he is very full of himself. i can tell he's a smart man but he should not be teaching an intro class. its almost the end of the first semester and i have talked to him many times and he has no idea who i am.

He does not understand basic questions, and he attempts to make his students look stupid for asking them... only resulting in his own social awkwardness and lack of common sense to flow out. I think, in reality, he's a nice guy, but he has these expectations of what a teacher should be like and he follows them absurdly.

He's a really nice guy, and he's very smart, but he just doesnt make the class very interesting. he reads off a projector, although I'm pretty sure he had everything memorized. The exams ask sort of random questions which dont really have to do with the major topics of study. the practice questions on his site are really helpful

Had Dr. Walsh for Intro to Psych. I DO NOT recommend taking him. His tests are outrageous if you don't study the practice questions on his website. Don't even worry about the book, just study those questions and you'll do OK on the tests. His lectures are very long and boring, but there are some funny videos he uses. Got to love Dr. Zimbardo!!

Hes really into psychology so its cute seeing how happy he gets when he has some weird video or website thing to show! pretty much just read the slides on your own before class, and try to understand it while he talks, take the practice tests! almost all of the test questions are on them! overall, a good class. if you're self motivated, take it!

He teaches off of his website.. thats right HIS website. Talks about himself and shows pictures from family vacations during class. He always wears this yellow fleece vest. He is really boring and doesnt turn the lights on during class, so you always fall asleep. He only does scantrons too. Overall, not great.

Everything is on the overhead. You take notes but you really don't need them that much. You can study for tests on his website. I'm not too sure on how helpful he is because I don't think anyone goes to ask him for help. Just go to class, take the notes, take the tests. That's it.

I took stats and probably only understood because he gave us so many practice problems. he's really smart but i don't think he really knows how to express the lesson clearly enough for people not on his level/ wavelength. But he does have this weird webpage with this freaky sttuff on it. the man really loves his cat.

Walsh is a good teacher; the reason it may be boring to some is because the topic doesn't interest everyone. This is one of my favorite classes, even tho it is all on the overhead.

Dr. Walsh is probably a very intellegent man, but he can not teach that intro class to save his life. In the end everyone winds up w/ good grades.. but you will sleep through the class. This is one of the worst classes i've taken in my 4 years here
