I took this class years ago. Very smart man but doesn't know how to efficiently run a classroom. If you need to know physics for the MCAT, do NOT take him. If you just need to get through and don't need to learn the stuff, not a bad option. His tests were handwritten and announced 2 days in advance. Everyone in my class failed the exams but got a B

Varonides is the best I seriously love this man. No homework but about 5 tests which are your only grades. Unless you already know physics you'll be confused in class & will probably get a 60 on every test but DON'T WORRY. Go to office hours & he'll give you no less than a B. He's so funny and doesnt care about a thing. Dont be intimidated he rocks

My god is he hard. This class is destroying my GPA, but I hear he curves massively. Difficult to understand, harder to read his notes. Don't expect to learn much, just write down as many equations as possible.

Took for mandatory science elective, failed every single test along with everyone else in class, but he curves so much and gives so much extra credit that you'll probably get a B anyway. Class can be interesting but he's so all over the place it's hard to keep track. Really, really funny guy and really nice too though.

One of the worst professors i've had in college thus far. You learn nothing in class because he is beyond confusing, and he writes so small and sloppy that nobody can read the endless amount of derivations on the board. Doesn't really announce when the exams are going to be, but it doesn't matter because you will fail anyway. Stay away at all costs

Took it over intercession. Worked my butt off with a different teacher and got a B+. Did nothing with him, winged every test, and got a B+. Basically take it if you don't care about learning the crap and just want to get through. Tests are awful but just show lots of random equations and draw random pictures- pretty easy to do when its open book

I hated physics so I took the second semester over intercession with him to get it out of the way. Overall, a good experience. He can be unclear in class since he goes so fast but for the tests just show him what you know for each problem. It doesn't matter if you fail all the tests, you'll still do fine in the end. He doesn't like failing anyone.

Varonides is the best! I had berger the first semester and didn't learn anything.. I actually learned physics with him and did better. The tests are very hard but he puts on a massive curve at the end. I don't know anyone that's received below a B- in his class.

If you don't take Dr. V for physics you are missing out. There was basically no work for this class- I barely studied for each test and didn't open the book once for the final. His tests make no sense and you WILL fail every single one but he gives everyone a B or B+ at the end so you can't do bad even if you try.

This man has no idea how to run a classroom. Barely announces when tests are, didn't even give us a syllabus, and when you should have gotten an 80 on a test you get a 50. You have no idea what's going on ever in his class and I didn't learn anything. Do not take him... I have to teach myself physics for the MCAT cause I learned nothing

The material was very hard but he did his best. He is a physics genius and believe it or not you will actually learn. The tests were tough and most people get 50s or less (like everyone but maybe 2 people..) but his curve helps. Very funny and nice man.. take him to get you through the most painful class you will have to take as a pre-med.

His class was interesting if I must say. Sometimes he was a good teacher and other times he just derived millions of equations and you had no idea what was going on. The tests are open book but impossible...you don't even know what you're solving for half the time. Don't bother with the homework- doesn't help. Go see him and he will love you.

Greek genius! I got a real kick out of varonides- no syllabus just starts teaching the minute he walks in. He's so smart to the point he can't pass on his knowledge so you'll have no idea what's happening and the tests make no sense but he curves massively at the end. This class was just hilarious and I don't know why.

This guy sucks. Avoid him at all cost. Every one of his tests are completely different from the material he teaches, as they are ridiculously hard problems that you have not seen or gone over at all in class, and nothing like the lecture problems. I think it is an absolute shame you pay 30k + to get taught by *ssholes like him.
