Worst teacher ever, never get a 101 class with him he will not even care if you are learning or not. Test are very hard and the only thing he cares is going through chapters as quickly as possible. He dosent care about students struggling with the language. Maybe he would be better on a higher level (I doubt it)

He looks like one of jesus disciples. I took his class three years ago, and i found him very easy. i took spn 1 and i had no prior experience with spanish at all....maybe he has gotten progressively harder, but when i took him, he was very straightforward. I also found him aimable and not too legalistic

Yeah..ditto to what almost everyone said..thankfully he wont be teaching anymore here. i only took him for spanigh 2 because i thought spanish 1 was easy...NOT TRUE! I failed by 2 points, which i thought the lab would cover. I studied, i had a tutor, and I tried talking to him...nothing worked. I lost my scholarship cuz of him!

Just a reminder to all the so called "adult" college students, you're in college now, no one's holding your hand. To learn a foreign language you have to study and practice, this means taking an interest, I took two classes with him and had no problem on exams because gues what... I studied!

He is not a good teacher at all. Evrything I learned, I learned on my own. He is very unorganized and would make our exams ten minutes before class. Though this is only Spanish II, he will expect you to be fluent. DO NOT TAKE HIM if there is another choice.

Ariel is an awesome guy, I won't deny that, but he is one of the harder Spanish teachers, esp. for Spanish 2. The tests are hard and if you don't want to study don't take him. If you are serious about learning the language though he is your best bet even though it might be hard. Oh and he's hot.

Beginning with Spanish 1 he'll start speaking spanish with you and its intimidating..he's very aware of the fact that most spanish teachers allow you to just slide by without truly knowing the language.but overall, he is very nice and understanding.Teaches you stuff you should know if you go abroad.

Ariel is a nice guy, BUT in the upper levels he has too much freedom, and I don't think I learned very much in the unstructured environment. I would recommend him for Spanish I or II, but think twice about taking him in 3 or 4.
